La preposición procedente del latín CIRCA se utiliza en bibliografía científica, en documentos his- tóricos o en genealogías para ubicar temporalmente un acontecimiento y determinar mediante supuestos, en qué momento de la historia de la humanidad ha podido suceder. Con este título este nuevo trabajo de Jëan Fixx busca desplazarnos a un tiempo indeterminado donde la relación del ser humano y la tecnología es tan estrecha que ya no se alcanza a diferenciar el mundo virtual del real.

Atrapados por la abstracción magnética del techno y su incansable beat, los 25 minutos de este EP nos remiten a un universo mental, con profundos bajos estructurados en atmósferas industria- les reverberantes a las que se asoman ciertos pasajes melódicos, dejando entrever una pasión más orgánica, fruto de un inmenso e irrefrenable deseo de expresión y comprensión.
Sólo el poder de la palabra nos hace dirigir la mirada hacia cuestiones concretas como en “Humans” donde nos interpelan a cuestionarnos los límites del ser humano y su capacidad de autogestión, en “The Truth” el texto introduce la incógnita de algo que desde el poder se está ocultando a la población, y en “Virtual Body Language” nos introduce en la lógica de la representación virtual y su capacidad de evocar formas que nos llevan a otros mundos y a otros cuerpos. Es “CIRCA”, que evoca en su título a algo que busca concreción, la que no posee texto, dejándonos con sus reiteradas pausas los huecos para que podamos rellenar de contenido al gusto del consumidor.

CIRCA es un viaje en cuatro partes a través de un universo todavía por definir que avanza impa- rable hacia lo desconocido.

Radio Slave’s colossal ‘The Revenge’ track now gets expert remix treatment from Klasse Wrecks label head Luca Lozano.

Luca has also released on the likes of Optimo, Sex Tags UFO and Unknown to the Unknown and brings a raw, acid tinged sound to his beats. As a performer Lozano’s versatile DJ sets span between raw house, cosmic disco and dynamic breakbeat selections, which is why he’s become a regular at key clubs across Europe and tasteful festivals like Houghton.

His ‘How Bow Dis’ Remix’ is solid and features wild old school flavours in its huge drum breaks, a monstrous bassline and dark filtered vocals. It bangs for seven superbly heavy minutes with plenty of twists and turns along the way, and will transform any club or warehouse into a writhing, sweaty mass in seconds.

On the flip, his ‘How Bow Dah’’ version is based around elastic drums and rumbling bass while a loose synth line darts about up top. Some distant synths bring a sense of serenity to the madness and so despite the physical impact of this one, it also has real emotion to it.

Following on from Type-303’s breakthrough The New Ravelution EP, Insult To Injury areproud to present You Ruined SST For Me EP by long time label friends, Pink Skull.We first heard Vr4l4r last year and immediately knew we had to put it out, as itmanages to be both an acid banger and a chordal, emotive piece simultaneously. No mean feat. F4n4pt turns up the heat (and the grit) with groove laden drum machines and analogue synthesisers firing machinegun-esque rhythms over the top. S4phr1s is aslightly weirder affair, as atonal bleeps & noises are anchored by the pounding 4/4 kickdrum.
Finally, label boss Timothy Clerkin provides a dance-floor-ready version of S4phr1s : 808‘s boom and 303’s squelch – it’s an acid workout for the warehouse.

And on the 5th day, Murg graciously delivered unto thee, o disciples of the rave, a trilogy of true school 140bpm shellers, bestowed upon you the form of “Psychedelia”, and it thumped and it was good. The second EP from the Newcastle UK lad, “Psychedelia” continues the journey from his self-released “Peugeots and Rave Stabs” but cranks the turbo factor up to rave-a-delic three hundred and three. Title track “Psychedelia” wastes no time letting you know what time it is - time you took a measurement of your heartbeat is it was time it is, ‘cause this tune raises the temperature like dropping that white dove you found inside the piggy bank in the bedroom at your parents place, right before a hardcore F45 workout. Nezt up, “Acid On Acid” does exactly what is advertised on the back of the box, and if you find yourself partial to a squiggly devilfish bassline, this one will fit neatly in your rave hole. Lastly, just when you thought you could get none more old school, EP closer “Break the Trip” hits you with the rave voltage. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself shuffling like an absolute madman to this one. Make no mistakes, this whole release clamps around your leg like lock-jaw. Rave.
