Volume 1 VA marks the debut compilation from Düsseldorf's Electronic Underground imprint, bringing together 13 tracks that span the wide spectrum of underground electronic music.
From progressive and oldschool-leaning electro to raw techno, breakbeat, ambient and noise, the release captures the label’s core ethos: to celebrate diversity within electronic subgenres and provide a platform for emerging voices.
The release will be available as a cassette tape and on digital platforms for download.

Noisy loops, crispy beats, distorted vocals, and cold electronics sound as if transmitted through an encrypted channel. Each composition is like a hidden message understood only by those who know where to look.

No rules, no censorship, no regard for algorithms - just the energy of an underground scene born from chaos and anonymity. I dedicate this collection to those who inspired me to create it - to those who once believed in me, believe now, and never stop believing.

'Ixona' is the second LP from Chicago composer Conor Mackey under his @lynyn alias on @sooperrecords. Crafted primarily with hardware, Lynyn's instrumental compositions draw on dub-techno, drum and bass, and acid.

As intricate breakbeats skitter through granular textures and pointillist swarms, 'Ixona' is both  vastly spacious and startlingly intimate. On 'Light Morph', wistful voices list against jagged breaks.

Australian producer @jensen-interceptor is set to release his second studio album, ‘Interception’, via his @internationalchrome label later this month.

“I’ve always made music geared towards use in my DJ sets, but there’s always been an urge to explore the deeper side of electronic music," he says. “I really wanted to challenge and, I guess, prove myself in other spheres, to take my music to a new place."

Seoul's Mount XLR (@kwangjaejeon) is a master at sculpting samples and sounds in a way that makes his music feel 3D — a throbbing entity, gritty and alive. On his new EP, 'Phase i', via @sound-supplyservice, he's deeply influenced by UK music - particularly bass, post-dubstep, and garage.

The six-tracker closes with 'Codrington Bounce', a cut partly produced in London that ties together the record’s dual energy and brings the narrative full circle.

@noni-mouse debuts on @earlyreflex with 'Eyes IV', the latest instalment in the label’s 'Eyes' two-tracker series. The London-based producer arrives with her heaviest record yet: a pair of raw, shadowy club cuts that double down on percussive pressure and weighty bassline.

'Model' stretches out the mood with tense pacing and syncopated drum work, where melodic fragments smear across a pulsing low-end and flickering hi-hats, creating a hypnotic pull built for strobe-lit floors.

Tane Presents: The Free Range Sounds Show - 12/09/2025

Diego Krause returns to his Unison Wax label later this week with his ‘Rituals’ EP. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of ‘Dysfunction’ from it above.

The Berliner took a year off from the imprint in 2016, concentrating on other projects and letting the label have a rest, but now he’s back with its first release of the new year.

Krause’s penchant for atmosphere is at the fore of ‘Dysfunction’, on a track that steadily builds into a heavy cut of pure darkside pressure at its very best.

Speaking about ‘Dysfunction’, Krause told DJ Mag, “When I produce club tracks like this one, I’m usually trying to channel a particular vibe I’ve experienced at a certain club or party.

“It’s mostly about those hazy early morning hours, when things can become more functional and repetitive. Although I have to add that I always like to add a subtle level of emotion to it.”
