A few weeks ago I tested out some dub effects on this classic, and recorded this rough cut / live dub mix. I was planning to give it a second shot but listening to it again today, I though it was worth uploading anyway.

Great remix of Hugh Masekela's classic anthem 'Stimela'. Taken from a Tongue And Groove Records 1994 compilation, and still sounds great today. Circle Of Power were never credited on the original release, but they are later mentioned on Discogs and also released a CD single which has a shorter edit. The samples seem to come from Masekela's live album 'Hope' but the rest of the production must have been from Circle Of Power or Jesse Chairez... Enjoy!

I stumbled across this session a while back, and after further digging, found 3 different tape sources from the John Peel shows, The best quality tape was incomplete, so have filled in the gaps, EQ'd and made as good as I can from the other 2 tapes. Such a shame his career and talent was cut so brutally short.

To me it sounds like something from the UK label Studio 16 or someone said it might be a Wackies production.
