I always record a mix before any event I'm playing at to get my bearing and make sure I'm prepared for the night.  I don't prepare my set before I play, ever.  I put my energy and investment into preparation of my music and reps playing it so I'm totally comfortable and confident playing the crowd, my favorite part of dj'ing.  This is my 3rd attempt at playing this particular blend of tech house and disco, funky, jackin house.  And it turned out so good!  I'm so happy with it!  Hope you love listening to it as much as I loved playing it!

Spinning vinyl for the underground since the 90s, Mama Love (aka DJ Mandi Love) was brought up by the house and techno scene in the Bay Area and NorCal house music heyday. With a lifelong love for music and dance, house music and turntables became an instrument of expression for both. With scene legends and innovators to mentor and inspire her, Mandi Love became one of the first female DJs to emerge from the elders as a “second-generation” vinyl jockey and performed for many years in residencies and cities along the West Coast into the 2010s. Emerging again after motherhood and a long hiatus from performance, a need to return to her music turned into a transformative journey to new sound expressions of love and freedom. Spinning music is an intentional gift from and for her, for all who listen, stories best told by breaking barriers and crossing genres across the vinyl and digital world of deep house, melodic techno, drum and bass, downtempo, and trip-hop.
