Glimpse into the kaleidoscopic soundscape of The Machine. The new 3 track, electrifying EP from Italian multi-talented musician Mondocane. Pulsating with carefully crafted dance-tempo cosmic beats, neon-drenched melodies then interlaced with Ai generated vocals laced with existentialism. The man meets machine approach is a unique hybrid of exploration in sound and thought. Track 3 "Random Dub" will keep the long-time followers of the label content with its downpitched and drippy dub reggae vibe.

The Machine is reimagined by UFO house progenitor Thomass Jackson. He lays down a simply nasty chunky rhythm section, then stripped back vocal sprinkled with his signature alien fx to give the title track a whole different planet of life.

BLANK TAPE ANNOUNCE DEBUT RELEASE AS LABEL - Melbourne's Texture Like Sun have just completed their debut EP, and it's now time to launch with three special shows down the east coast w/ Patrick James. The EP is available digitally and physically through Blank Tape Music/MGM on the 2nd of November.

The self-titled EP was recorded across Darwin and Melbourne's Bounce County Studios, produced by award winning Pip Norman (Countbounce - TZU, Sparkadia, Ash Grunwald) and mixed by Dan Rejmer - a man who counts Bjork, Foals and Paul Kelly among his working credits. While the six piece’s sound couldn't be further away from anything they’ve done before, their cohesive approach remains apparent; evident through the effortless guild that bridges each of the songs on the EP.
The earthy vocals may draw ghostly parallels to Jeff Buckley and Scott Matthews, while there’s a certain zealousness that sees the band paint their folk and roots stylings through accounts of both brighter times and others of fragile refrain.
Compelling song writing doesn't need embellishment. Texture Like Sun may just seem to be another band dwelling on the human condition, but there’s a quality about the EP that descends well beyond just plaintive lyricism. Haunting track ʻBottleʼ is a moving account of addiction and loss in all its forms. The strength of this EP may be evident in its honest subject matter; the striking string section featured in ʻRubber Manʼ and the pacing melody of ʻOne Great Prizeʻ still salvages a sense of great warmth. Similarly, the slow, ruminative guitar of ʻWeekendʼ distils a dreamlike imprint of early mornings spent with the one you love.
There are releases that stay with you for a long time; songs which mirror our own stories, artists who mark themselves distinct - and others who, put more simply, are just quietly brilliant.

Wen doing one remix of Ladyshave in 1999, biggi veira asked Bongo to find his favorite drum and bass track and pitch it down from 45 to 33.3 to get the drums for the mix.  We then had Bongos ex girlfriend do a take on the vocal and added some synth shit.  Here is the result

DJ Margeir is the Golden Calf making sacrifices on the sonic altar for the lost hordes. His infamy is forged from ironclad production, blistering DJ sets and a twisted sense of humour that keeps his disciples coming back religiously. 

Margeir is one half of Gluteus Maximus and a long-time cohort of GusGus’s Pineapple Records. As a club DJ, Margeir has circled the globe laying down the gospel since the early ‘90s. 

DJ Margeir and his Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Samuel Samuelsson and featuring members of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, takes audiences on an aural adventure they’re not likely to forget. 

Margeir’s Blue Lagoon baptisms are legendary, his water-borne party sets ferrying crowds to an otherworldly land of musical plenty. The third instalment of his acclaimed Blue Lagoon Soundtrack will be released in May 2014.

Gluteus Maximus is Iceland's President Bongo and DJ Margeir. Masterminds of the Reykjavik-based events company Jón Jónsson, these dysfunctional digital artists have jockeyed their disks all over the planet, playing everywhere from Pacha to The End, armed with a combined remix list verging on the offensive - Björk, Trentmøller, Sigur Rós, Captain Comatose, Prins Póló and Kasper Björke to name but a few. Their original hit single “Everlasting”, featuring the magnificent vocals of Högni Egilsson, heralded the birth of their own label, Radio Bongo. Both at home and abroad Margeir and The President are a supernatural institution. They’re an arsenal of rotating musical mass with a live freak show that shouldn’t be missed.
