Desert Dwellers consists of Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe; together they are one of the most pioneering and prolific downtempo artists hailing from the United States, having released over a dozen full length albums, several DD remixed albums, as well as countless singles, EPs and remixes for labels like Black Swan, Twisted, Six Degrees, Iboga and their own label Desert Trax, to name a few. Desert Dwellers were extremely honored to open for one of their favorite artists Shpongle (Simon Posford) for a 7 week tour in early 2014 called The Museum of Consciousness Tour. Consisting of 42 gigs around the United States, the combo of Desert Dwellers and Shponlge turned out to be a very powerful show. This particular Desert Dwellers set was the live unedited recording of the show in Lafayette on March 27th, where some mega fans were tearing it up in the dancefloor. Big thanks to Simon, Zebbler, Ben, Hippie, and Pete for such an epic tour!

The 'Original Mix' is the usual high class production you would expect from BiG AL, with it's driving bass line, guitar breakdowns and vocal hook it will get people moving on the dance floor. 

The Stefan Cordery Remix takes the Original down a more progressive route, with the introduction of evolving pads and a more up front beat.  Whilst the Rod Pearson Remix takes a more stripped back approach to things retaining some of the original bass line and synth elements but applying his own deep sound.

"Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album full of contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 1 is slated for a September 21st release, and features sonic reinterpretations from Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Hibernation, An-ten-nae, Kaminanda, AtYya, Tribone, Twin Shape, Land Switcher, Drumspyder, and Govinda. The second part will be released in late October with contributions from Emancipator, Whitebear, Sixis, Mystral, Supersillyus, Halfred, Master Minded, and many others. Birmingham based DJ Producer Matt Holliday has been on the scene for over a decade, making a name for himself with an array of singles and remixes on labels such as JOOF and Bonzai Progressive. In 2015, he warmed up the Bonzai stage at Tomorrowland/Belgium, and early 2016 saw him playing the Luminosity Trance Gathering/Amsterdam. Then came his debut artist album 'Phase of Life', which was described as “indescribably breathtaking, emotionally moving, and gloriously touching”. 2020 kicked off with his new single ‘Convex’ and his new monthly podcast ‘Moments’ on Digitally Imported Radio. In 2023, Matt built a new home recording studio, creating a dedicated space for music production. Whilst 2024 saw the launch of Vacate Music, a platform to release his own music, embracing full creative control and independence.
