Inspired by the music of UK producer and electro head Ben Pest, DJ MELL G uses skittery electro elements and breakbeat patterns on BORDERLINE to explore the sense of unease that comes with BPD. The long intro builds tension and explodes into a menacing melody and rippling bassline, depicting her inner restlessness and ever-increasing tension. "This reflects quite well what I go through when I come into a loop," she says, describing how she questions herself and doesn't understand herself when the loop occurs. "I feel strange in my own body and push everything and everyone away from me, harming them or harming myself. I try to pull myself together after that and tell myself not to act like that, which is actually also wrong, because I have to allow my feelings, but just find a different way of dealing with them. Nevertheless, the song has a clean line because you know that it will stop again at some point. The song describes, so to speak, my emotional rollercoaster ride during a LOOP where you always get out again, but it seems impossible while you are in the loop."
