What a ride!! I had SO much fun delivering this music to techno's faithful at Desert Hearts. 

It starts out groovy and eventually drives off into a techno frenzy. For those of you that were there and went on this trip with me, you know that it was it was good times. 

Thanks to all those smiling faces, those high fives (and fist bumps), the kitty ears that you know who encouraged I wear, the birthday well wishing, the pocket of techno crazed superstars lusting and lurching front and center and the behind-the-decks presence that made for a backstage raging dance party. Who knew that the vibe could be held down so tight behind the decks when there was world class Funktion One in front?

Thanks to David, Lee, Mikey, Ryan, Matt, Kristoff and Andy for their dedication to throwing a premium event and attracting all of my favorite freaks. 

All apologies for the uber lag in releasing this mix. I am… well… picky... But, I couldn't hold on to this one any longer. I eventually decided that I have to share. Hope you enjoy it.

The desert dance floor was nice and warmed up for a techno train departing planet earth headed straight for the moon. Jumping on right after a stellar birthday set from Anton(https://soundcloud.com/antontumas), a funk n' groovy beginning got some wiggle out before launching into my brand of no-nonsense straight-forward psychedelic techno sound. A bunch of bouncing bodies were proof enough that there was either a lot of fun being had or folks were just trying to stay warm out there in the chilly moonlit night. I don’t always play from 1a - 3a in the desert under the full moon but when I do, I guess I like to play hard, sometimes dark, sometimes melodic, sometimes groovy, with a dash of acid and apparently sometimes it’s at 140bpm. It was a wild ride but to all those that made it til the end, you’ll remember what it feels like to ride a speeding train off a cliff. The dismount was a little rough but I left it in there because... well... that happened. Enjoy!

Kicking off the day on the Heart of Serenity stage with a Lunar Hatha Flow Yoga class taught by Reva and DJ'd by michael be was apparently juuuuust the right mix for a great morning class at 8am. We had a floor full of yogis and a fun flow for the body to warm up to. This mix is our live 60 minute class along with a post production addition of an extra long ambient intro and the full healing bowl meditation concert by Karma Moffet. Enjoy the full 2 hours!

Lunar Hatha Flow Yoga - Extended Live Mix - Serenity 2019

This is the music I dj'd for a 60 minute yoga class taught by Reva Myers in a class we call, "Lunar Hatha Flow". The music follows the parabolic arc of energy one might expect at a yoga class. Starts slowly and builds momentum, eventually peaking and gliding down to a smooth landing for Savasana.

The Lunar Hatha Flow project has given me an amazing opportunity to explore music & sound with respect to breath and movement for yogis and the open air yoga "studios" we've found for classes. We've had a few opportunities to teach our class this month and each one is so super cool.

What an incredible event! Best dancefloor vibes!! This is the first time I've ever tried to record my own live set. It took 18 years to find the record button. Unfortunately, I made some rookie mistakes with the levels. If you missed being in front of Brad's amazing Funktion One stacks then well... this will have to do. 

Michael be - Live @ Tropical Hearts - 5.04.13

Just had a friend hit me up for a hidden gem of a mix of mine for their moment. They had just taken steps to assure a heart-felt experience and wanted something fun to listen to. This Full Moon closing set popped into my mind immediately. I shot them copies of the splintered set I've had for years and I thought... maybe I can finally handle releasing the full mix. 

Back in September 2018 I had an aging laptop that literally didn’t have the processing power to combine the four high-res 2gig files that the recorder split the 4 hour set into. That’s the ONLY reason I had for not releasing this mix untouched and in it’s entirety. I loved playing it and it still brings me back to that brilliant sunny day that Chad had just rocked at Two Playas when no one seemed ready to go home. Least of all me! 

You’ll hear Danny jamming on guitar for a while with me starting around the 2hr 45min mark as we decided to collaborate on the day of and it sounded amazing! He offered to do the combining and mastering of this mix for me just to get it out there but apparently I was waiting for this Sunday to rebroadcast. Buddy, this one’s for you! That was fun times!
