Michael Norton Closing Set live at Dark Matter 2nd Birthday

Michael started his career as a DJ in 2012 when he came on board with the already successful events promoter Ctrl, which had hosted events with the likes of Ben Gold, Claudia Cazacu & Mat Zo. By this point Michael was helping Ctrl as they took their residency with The Gallery at London’s Ministry of sound. He soon went on to host and DJ the back room with Ctrl at Bournemouth’s once famous Slinky at the O2 Academy run by Lee Haslam. They managed to host 2 events bringing headliners Leolife and superstar DJs Allen & Envy, whilst the main room headliners where Paul van Dyk, Simon Patterson, Orjan Nilsen, Gareth Emery, Judge Jules & Genix.

Since then Michael has developed his style from his once more electronic chunky trance style, to his more developed sound of progressive, tech house and techno. 

In 2017 he teamed up with Carl Rowlinson as a techno duo called ShiftFunction. Their first gig was for Global Language at the beginning of the year warming up the decks before handing them over to John 00 Fleming. They have also played the Loft at Ministry of Sound and have a event coming up not to be missed playing a 2 hour closing set for Transcend's new techno brother Dark Matter on the 22nd July 2017 at Union in Vauxhall.

Recently taking on the challenge of production in the last two years, Michael has now produced a number of track released on Introspective records, which include Formation and his collaboration with Gareth 2Dark entitled Rising Sun.
