We’ve got a special release this April on Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters imprint from two titans in the scene; Armand Van Helden and Mark Knight, who join forces for an exciting new collaboration, ‘Down To Earth’. Between them, both artists have a wealth of experience spanning more than four decades in the Dance industry alongside countless smash hits on labels including Strictly Rhythm, Henry Street, Black Book, Repopulate Mars, Armada Subjekt alongside own imprints Armed Records and Toolroom.

An artist who needs no introduction, Grammy nominated Armand Van Helden is one of Dance music's most celebrated figures, with a career spanning 30 years and a vast discography which includes hits such as 90's classic 'You Don't Know Me' to his seminal hit 'My My My'. Mark Knight on the other hand has spent years perfecting his craft playing at some of the world’s best clubs and is renowned for his signature Tech and House productions including ‘Man With The Red Face’ and more recently, hits such as ‘All 4 Love’ and ‘Yebisah’. Crisp drums and a rumbling low-end set the bar high for ‘Down To Earth’; an energetic groover from the get-go infusing both artists unique style and flair.

Electrifying vocal stabs take centerstage alongside a commanding bassline, punchy drums and popping percussion adding energy to the rhythm with exciting builds throughout.

Disco classic "I Feel Love" was produced by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, with lyrics by Donna Summer and first appeared on Donna Summer's 1977 album "I Remember Yesterday", it could be considered as "one of the most influential records ever made". Following in the wake of such high esteem is no mean feat - however - Cr2 founder Mark Brown AKA MYNC alongside legendary 90’s house duo Rhythm Masters created an edit back in 1998 which conquered the beach bars and clubs of Ibiza throughout that season. 

Since then, the edit has remained in the Cr2 vaults awaiting a refreshed version for the changing face of electronic music in 2017 and beyond… Finally, the moment came, alongside the labels "Past, Present & Future" series which has seen some of the most exciting producers reinvigorate Cr2classics, it became clear that this particular edit was worth an overhaul. 

Handpicked for their notable underground style, Glaswegian duo Illyus & Barrientos fires up their signature club-ready house style and transforms the track into an even bigger, floor-filling anthem.

DJ Minx was inspired to spin at The Music Institute, where some of Detroit’s leading dance music DJs helped to hone her skills.

For two years she engineered and hosted “Deep Space Radio,” an electronic music show on Detroit’s WGPR radio station. She also voluntarily hosted a weekly radio program at the University of Canada on CJAM 91.5 FM called “Steamy Windows,” and later became a resident of world-renowned Club Motor in Hamtramck. In 2000 she was a featured performer at the first Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and has since become a regular fixture at Movement.

In December 1996 Minx founded Women on Wax, a collective of female DJs from the Metro Detroit area. From then on, she worked with promoters and DJs across the country to solidify the career of several top female DJs and singers.

In 2001, Minx established her own record label called Women On Wax Recordings, which has become a platform for her own productions (including the 2003 classic, “A Walk In The Park”) and outlet for local talent. Minx expanded her musical majesty by creating a sub-imprint of the label called W.O.W. B.A.M. (Women On Wax Bangin’ Ass Music), and continues to collaborate with, produce on, and remix for a number of labels.

Currently on the Liaison Artists roster, Detroit’s “First Lady of Wax” is going strong after nearly three decades of DJing and continues to play in cities across the U.S. and around world. She was recently named one of the “20 Women Who Shaped the History of Dance Music” by Mixmag and one of the “Best house music DJs of all time” by TimeOut New York. In 2018, she was presented with the Spirit of Detroit Award for “exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the quality of life.” In 2020, she launched Behind The Grüv, an online store that sells high-quality, reasonably priced casual wear, fit for lounging, outdoor events and working out.

One can only imagine what other paths Minx will explore in the years to come.
