Since its inception in 2016, Cornucopia has been a musical project synonymous with creativity and depth. The name itself, rooted in ancient mythology, symbolizes abundance and prosperity. Today, it evokes the same spirit—a metaphorical horn overflowing with ideas and innovation. This ethos emerges in the latest release, the fifth offering from the new label run by Guy J.

The music is a testament to artistic richness and a celebration of sonic exploration. The release opens with Remember Me, a mellow yet groove -infused track tailormade for sunset moments by the sea. Built on hypnotic layers, it evolves into an atmospheric journey that blends joy, subtle ecstasy, and vibrant energy. In an age of musical hyperproduction, Remember Me is a reason alone to celebrate Cornucopia's return. Yet, it is only the beginning; the unexpected euphoria unfolds as the release progresses.

Seasoned partygoers often categorize tracks by their vibe —some are designed for the night, while others are for the early hours. The title track, Early Morning, is an ode to the latter, crafted to accompany the most dedicated dancers as they greet the dawn. The sixth release from the Early Morning, run by Guy J, seamlessly upholds the reputation for quality while enriching its catalog with another standout addition. This time, the spotlight falls on Cypherpunx, a UK-based production duo comprising Douglas Horner and Tim Belcher. Since 2019, Horner and Belcher have released on some of the most esteemed labels, yet this marks their first collaboration with Early Morning.

The lead track, Cyclone, is a masterclass in dancefloor energy, offering a meticulous blend of vintage influences and cutting-edge studio techniques. Its fluid, hypnotic arrangement weaves atmospheric textures, sci-fi-inspired effects, and ethereal vocal chants, resulting in an immersive sonic character. Psychedelic nuances elevate the composition, evoking a sense of transcendence while maintaining a crisp, modern production aesthetic.

Closing the release is a remix by Khen, a prominent figure in the electronic music scene whose work continues to gain industry acclaim. His reinterpretation of "Cyclone" preserves the essence of the original while introducing a unique perspective shaped by his signature sound. By juxtaposing primal tribal percussion with an intricate and cerebral approach to sound design, Khen highlights the emotional core of the melody, presenting it in a fresh and compelling light.

I had the chance to attend Hangar Invites: Adriatique. It was an unforgettable experience! Inspired by their set, I put together this mix featuring some of my favorite tracks by Adriatique, originals, remixes, and collaborations. It's a tribute to their unique sound and a reflection of the vibe I took home from that day.

HANGAR invites ADRIATIQUE (2025)  - INSPIRATIONAL MIX

Having launched 2016 with his ‘Octavia’ EP, Lost & Found boss Guy J returns home to kick start 2017, with a new double-header born out of moments in time, inspiration and a quest for a specific sound. 

“MDQ is named after the airport code of Mar Del Plata in Argentina,” says Guy. “I played there with John Digweed earlier this year at MUTE. It’s a party on the beach and, for me, was the best I’ve been to in my life and not just as a DJ.” 

MDQ beautifully recreates and projects the warmth of the sun, uplifting vibes and postive energy that Guy felt on the sand that day. Its melodic charm and passionate delivery lifts the listener, transporting them to that most southern of shores.

Diagonal, on the flip, was born more out of necessity. “I needed something with a transitional feel for my sets. A track that would allow me to segue to the next part, up the tempo and deliver a more groovy and seductive magic.”

Another delicious brace from the Lost & Found boss and a perfect selection to soundtrack the new year.
