This month's IRAQ-A-FELLA episode is part of the Sawa Sawa program

Sawa, Sawa is a digital space by and for 18-26 years old South West Asian and North African artists in the UK that reflects how we’ve navigated the past 15-month struggle.

Born during the early months of one of the world’s strictest lockdowns, IRAQ-A-FELLA Radio started as a way for Delhi-based label owner and boxout.fm co-founder DJ MoCity to cope with living alone and away from family by rediscovering his music roots.

Alongside a number of friends and frequent collaborators oceans apart, IRAQ-A-FELLA Radio the show came to life. With features from the likes of artist and writer Sundus Abdul Hadi, Iraqi-Canadian rapper, author, university instructor and director Narcy (who also coined the name of the show), Dubai- based creative zayelkenz and London-based creative director/producer Abdulisms. Each monthly episode explores a branch of sonic heritage for the artists in the form of guest mixes and radio specials.

She runs a bi-monthly radio show on rinse named 'planet 2 planet' and is a resident for hangar in Belgium. An opportunity for her to explore genres and invite celebrated and upcoming artists to join.

Fiona’s sound is charged with euphoric influences that are merged with her love of house and techno. Her sets travel from progressive to hard house, italo, breakbeats, acid, electro to 90s/00s rave with a surprising, sexy and groovy tapestry of sounds.
