Thanks for the wild energy NYC -- and thanks Superior Ingredients and Spencer Brown for having me. Playing a 700 person, sold out rooftop in Brooklyn during sunset -- wow, what an experience.

About the set:
Normally, I'm playing shorter sets, later in the evening in a dark club. I've only had to play longer sets on occasion, usually for friends, for myself, or at places like Burning Man. Longer sets like these enable a DJ to truly work their catalogue and craft a story for the audience -- I feel like there's been such a push to fill lineups and sell tickets as dance has become bigger, but extended sets tend to be the most exciting for me as a DJ and as a listener. 

Playing a long set, during the day, with such an educated, full, and loving crowd in Brooklyn was an incredible treat -- it was wonderful seeing how many people were there locked into the grooves and open to changes in energy, mood, and genre. 3 hours is too long to come to a dancefloor in a powerful, one-dimensional way and hold their attention. To me, as a DJ, that means taking a lot of risks and paying attention so that you can take the right risks to move the energy of the music with the energy of the crowd. Thank you so much NYC for letting me take those risks and for dancing alongside me.
