The first working cut of my latest track. This little beauty builds and builds tension all the way through, with a funky tech - house / electro vibeThis is UNMASTERED so headphones only, im afraid its just a demo. Reasons Thor, Native instruments Massive, and of course Ableton Lives own Synthesisers... Analog and Operator are all involved. Several samples and sampling techniques are at work also, and the vocoder.. Needs a lot of work.... I still have to bounce down the tracks from 21 into a logical bussing arrangement... only then will I be able to master it properly. Not 100 percent settled on the general structure yet. 

HELLO COMPUTER (rough cut)

The mastered version of "Hello Computer" ... a few minor tweaks... fixed up the vocal on the big breakdown, added a bit more energy on the the  filter and formant sweeps, and generally tidied up the levels and eq.... its also a good bit longer .... it finishes with grace this time instead of just dying.

HELLO COMPUTER (original mix)

This is the mastered trance style mix of my track "Harmonic Electronix". I started writing a track in A minor, about four months ago, and it has evolved from a simple live midi controller set into a trancey style track. Since my original demo version, I have stripped it down... heavily remixed it, ditched the orchestral samples and used my own synth in their place, reworked the top end both arrangement and effects, and reworked the effects rigs in general.  For the production geeks... here is a brief rundown of the setup used:

SYNTHS: 4 * NATIVE INSTRUMENTS MASSIVE, 2 * REASON THOR + REASON EFFECTS RIG, 2* ABLETON OPERATOR. 6 SAMPLE TRACKS. ABLETON EFFECTS AND MASTERING. 



HARMONIC ELECTRONIX (Trance mix)

This track was something I was working on nearly two years ago but I lost the original files due to a buggered hard drive! So all I have is this recordind, Unfinished and unmastered but its very evil which I like! Hard and tense techno synths and warped samples in front of a hard beat and dynamic top end!

SYNTHETIC TORTURE

This one was done entirely in Ableton 9, using its own synths. Also I used a couple of layered Novation BassStation plug - ins for the bassline. Starts off hard then drops into a long and dreamy breakdown, where the three synth arpeggios play off against each other with filter sweeps. Builds up into a euphoric melee in A minor, then releases back into the hard phsy-trance style beats. 

INMYMIND

A wee number I did in combination with Reason and Ableton, using some of Reason's synths and Ableton's sequencer and effects, along with an accapella. Jazzy and funky sounding... just a late night live jam that I turned into a track a few years ago. Still  love it when I listen to it.

SYNTH, SAMPLER FUN!

A full length set using ableton suite. Mixed using ableton suite and mixed strictly "in key". There are four main effects dripping in and out, thats all I have enough midi control set up for right now, but its enough I think.  Mostly techno/tech-house, but I whack in a bit of a vocal mash-up near the middle of the set, then quickly pull it back to the dark side. (Where it belongs)

LOVE/HAPPYNESS

On soundcloud I have a mixture of my studio sets... mostly techno and tech-house, and a selection of my own tracks that I have played around with in the last couple of years. I have tried to do a few different styles of my own tracks so far, still learning a lot about how to put tracks together. I will soon have my set-up put together again in my new place and be working on some new stuff.

My set up includes Reason 5, Ableton Live 8, Audacity 2, Native Instruments Massive, Novation BassStation. On the hardware side of things I'm using a Behringer BCR2000, Novation 25SL, M-Audio Axiom 48, Novation SLZero, Novation nio for the sound hardware.
