This time with… Mitsuru! although he doesn’t need presentation, from the beginning he has been a great reference for me in Mixcloud for his good taste in the selection of the music, and his great talent, with great elegance in the mixes, specially in afro house and house music, converting his sessions on a real ride bordering on perfection, what do I say? simply in the perfection. Mitsuru Started DJing at Crete 64 in Sapporo from 1987. He retired at the age of 26, but resumed DJing on mixcloud in 2016.

This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of playing at the Forbidden Garden, an event I helped organize near downtown Brooklyn, NY, and it turned out to be a very memorable night. As the night went on, I realized how much music can unite us. Seeing all the smiling faces and happy people dancing was a joy. And to think that I played a small part in making that happen was incredibly rewarding. The experience was unforgettable, and I'm thankful for all the love and support I received from my friends and fam.

Over the past two years, including 2023, I've set another personal record for the number of amazing tracks I've listened to. Distilling this extensive tracklist hasn't been easy; it is a compilation that works as a diary of the tracks that have resonated with me most profoundly, reflecting my deep, personal connection to each of them. 

As with previous editions, some of the tracks included were not released in 2023 but became relevant to me during this year. For instance, South Bloom's "Let Me In" and Mike Rish's "Reka" have been favourites since their release, and experiencing them live during 29th Sep Guy J's set at Night Tales, London earned their right place in this set. Similarly, with Marway's "Hypnos", while I had already featured the Eric Lune Remix on my https://soundcloud.com/undergroundcolombo/marcal-prats-underground-colombo-master-1 podcast, it was through the masterpiece set https://soundcloud.com/balance-series/balance-selections-245-ricky-ryan that I rediscovered the brilliance of the Original Mix.
