Sean McCabe live at Southport Weekender 52 - Powerhouse

We're back and booming with and all-star line up on Friday 1st of January 2016. With New Years Day falling on a Friday, not only does this mean no work the next day but also a extra Bank Holdiay Monday to recover. Boom!

We're bringing our open arms, open music ideaology to the dance floor at The Drury Club in Covent Garden from 4pm, with very special guest, NYC stalwart Victor Rosado.

The UK gives us CJ Mackintosh, Ricky Morrison and Deep Into Soul man Neil Pierce, with Boom! family favourites Jeremy B, Alex Boggio and Paul Newman in residence.

Expect a NYD soundtrack laden with classic & new house flavours, flecked with disco, soul & funk. Culminating in a classic and very special Disco/Garage set from from Victor. A name not only known for having spun at some of NYC's most seminal parties but also for his incredible opening set at A Night in Paradise last year at Ministry of Sound Club.

Mr Robert 'Robertino' Wonder will also be in residence, celebrating his 21st Birthday (again). There'll be treats for all early on so watch this space.

Since Paul's passing, he pops into my mind almost daily. He gave me my first break in this industry, and has always guided and supported me. So many tracks come to my mind when i think about Paul, and yesterday his presence was with me really strongly and i couldn't stop thinking about him, and how he inspired me in so many ways. I just needed to play music that reminded me of Paul Trouble and some truly amazing times in my life. so here is is. Nearly 4 hours of tracks that flowed from me yesterday (all very spiritual i know, but that's the truth). Some of the mixing ain't the best and there's a few key clashes but i thought fuck it just share it. I hope you enjoy!

Starting at 4pm in the courtyard and closing at 2am In the stunning studio this 10 hour party welcomes a world class line up.

Baltimore legend DJ Spen will be joined by NYC’s Jovonn who makes a rare UK appearance alongside Deep Into Soul resident Neil Pierce and fellow Londoner Damian Charles.

LOVEDANCE get us started outside In the courtyard from 4pm with disco old and new featuring special guest, prolific Swedish DJ/Producer Opolopo, Stuart Patterson plus local DJ Cam Brott.

To add to this awesome line up we have the talented songstress Vanessa Freeman performing live.

As always expect the friendliest crowd a heavy sound system and amazing lights and visuals.....

Artist Info: 
Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe has had plenty of time to develop his own sound. Famously, he released his first tracks in 2003 at the tender age of 17 and has spent the last decade fine-tuning a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in house, developing a long-running relationship with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then, he’s amassed an impressive discography of nearly 100 releases, delivering inspired reworks for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound regularly takes on flavours of disco, boogie, Afro, deeper grooves, proto-house, ‘90s garage-house dubs and much more besides.

Neil Pierce Biography

Neil Pierce may be known as a DJ, Producer, Remixer and Label Manager but all these titles can be summed up with one thing in common – he is a name you can rely on for good quality soulful house music you can dance to.  Playing exclusives to classics, gospel to dubs, Neil’s DJ sets are full of energy that never fail to take you on a musical journey that will have you smiling and letting loose on the dance floor.

It was whilst Neil was the Manager of Release the Groove record shop in London’s Soho that he began to make his way in the industry and became friends with many of the people that he would eventually play alongside.  It wasn’t long before Neil was DJing at legendary nights such as Garage City and Paul Trouble Anderson’s Loft parties in Camden.


In 2001, a new night was launched at the infamous Ministry of Sound super-club in London.  That night was Soul Heaven and it soon became a club night synonymous with playing quality house music with soul.  It is of no surprise then that not long after its launch, Neil was asked to be a Soul Heaven resident.  Nearly a decade later and Neil continues to be part of the Soul Heaven nights representing the brand in the UK and Worldwide.

In 2003, Neil partnered up with fellow Soul Heaven resident Aaron Ross as producers under the name Fanatix.  Since their collaboration, they have made a name for themselves by working with some amazing artists such as Blaze, Kimara Lovelace, KOT, Kenny Bobien, Roy Ayers and Stephanie Cooke, as well as homegrown talents, Terri Walker, Kele le Roc, Jamiroquai, Alex Mills, Don-E and Sunburst Band.  Recognition for their music came with releases on respected major ‘house’ labels including Sony, Defected, BBE, Ricanstruction, ZR, Def Jam, Soulgroove and of course Soul Heaven Records.

In March 2008, Fanatix released their debut album, There It Is on London based label BBE to great critical acclaim and the No. 1 spot on Traxsource. The album was raved about from all the top Dj’s in the scene, and it was also licenced to Toys Factory in Japan.
 
During this time, Neil also found time to work on some solo projects.  In 2005 he set up his own label Hustle Music which most famously is responsible for originally signing The Way You Love Me by Ron Hall & The Muthafunkas featuring Marc Evans which is now a house classic.

Neil’s reputation for recognizing and pioneering good music continued to grow and in 2009 he was the obvious choice to replace Aaron Ross as Label Manager at Soul Heaven Records.  As well as finding new up and coming artists and music, this gave Neil the opportunity to put out his own music and in 2010, his debut solo record Relish Your Soul performed by Kadija Kamara was released on Soul Heaven Records.  Written by Neil, Kadija and Mike Patto (Reel People) this cutting edge soulful house track received huge support from DJs worldwide.

In May 2013 Neil and Ziggy Launched Rhemi Music .Their first release (a remix of a the classic “call on me “ by Fanatix  reached number number 2 on the singles chart on traxsource and from there it’s snowballed like crazy. In just a few years they have had countless Number 1 hits including the club anthems “Diamond”, ‘Mask Off” ‘Back to the one” and ‘Shake Your Body Down”.and they have remixed for Joey Negro, Dj Spen, Louie Vega and Sandy Rivera to name but a few. Rhemi also released their first compilation on Dj Spen’s Quantize Recordings.

2017 is set to be a massive year for Neil, with non-stop studio commitments as well as his Deep Into Soul Party at the POW packed to capacity every month, and a string of releases on countless labels, he is definitely one to watch !
