Brenda is a Chicago-based techno artist. She is A&R for Format Recordings, resident DJ and co-producer of their weekly techno podcast series, Format.FM, and joint curator of the Format underground warehouse event series. In 2023, she became a resident DJ at renowned dance club, smartbar, in Chicago.

 A classically trained pianist and saxophonist, her expansive understanding of structure and rhythm allows her to draw inspiration from all kinds of music, from soulful jazz to dark, gritty drum and bass. Brenda’s talent for laying down everything from pulsing ethereal beats to jackin’ stompers demonstrate her versatility all while maintaining consistent themes of darker, harder, hypnotic techno.

Paula Cazenave is synonymous with Techno and boasts a rich career spanning decades. Hailing from San Sebastian-Donostia in the north of Spain, she made Barcelona her home in 2003 and has since left an indelible mark on the global electronic music scene. From the late 90s onwards, Paula has graced the stages of prestigious venues and festivals across Spain, Europe, and South America, with notable appearances at Awakenings, DGTL, Brunch in the Park, Dreambeach, Aquasella, and many more.
Her journey commenced by juggling her studies in audiovisual production and sound technology with weekend gigs in the vibrant Basque Country nightlife. Upon relocating to Barcelona, Paula dove headfirst into DJing and event organization, establishing herself as a key figure in the city's thriving scene. Venues like La Cova became her playground, solidifying her position as a stalwart of the Barcelona electronic music community.

As an artist, Paula embodies the essence of a true DJ, eschewing gimmicks for a pure, no-nonsense approach. Her sets are masterfully crafted in the tradition of old-school DJs, characterized by impeccable technique, lightning-fast and seamless mixes, and a boundless versatility that traverses everything from pulsating grooves to dark, raw sounds—all stamped with her unmistakable signature style. While she defies categorization within specific Techno sub-genres, her sets consistently deliver sheer force and energy. Influenced by luminaries like James Ruskin, The Advent, Ben Sims, Surgeon, and Slam, Paula's musical evolution has remained steadfastly rooted in her unwavering commitment to Techno.

Since 2017, Paula has immersed herself in the management of Combine Audio, her label which has become a beacon of Techno excellence. Hosting releases from esteemed artists such as Ben Sims, Ken Ishii, DJ Shufflemaster, Patrik Skoog, Gayle San, DJ Rush, PWCCA, Israel Toledo, Pushmann, Jeroen Search, and a host of emerging talents, Combine Audio has cemented its position as a formidable player in the Spanish Techno scene, garnering widespread support from artists and fans worldwide.

Los Angeles based NEKTER provides the room with what she calls a techno sound bath; scratching different parts of the brain with various textures and noise while using particular healing frequencies and sounds. This emerging hypnotic DJ has been working her way through the underground warehouse circuit around the world from Atlanta, to Detroit, to Mexico City.

NEKTER gained her notoriety after winning the 2021 REFORM DJ Contest hosted by 6AM Group and Synthetik Minds. She cut her teeth playing warehouses with the Berlin/LA based all-female techno collective Fallen Angel Techno. She is often seen on local lineups for the most prominent underground techno groups in LA such as 6AM, Dirty Epic, WORK, and Synthetik Minds and has shared the stage with industry heavy-hitters such as D.Dan, Coyu, The Advent, and Shlomo. Now an official resident of Commonsense Records in Mexico City, NEKTER finds herself sharing the decks with even more international talent. 

NEKTER aims to shake things up and represent the next generation of techno DJs while paying respectful homage to the legends who helped pave the way for the underground techno community. More importantly, NEKTER's focus is on the experience of the sound journey as it relates to spiritual exploration. Her 10+ years of yoga and meditation practice has landed her at a place where she no longer wishes to have a boundary between the banging techno and consciousness observation. Her sets are designed with the purpose of diving into one's subconscious, making friends with one's shadows, and feeling sensations in every part of the body. NEKTER calls these experiences a techno sound bath. It is imperitive to her that the journey be healing, embodied, and somatic as well as being fun as fuck. 

"I want the experience to be intellectually stimulating as well as physically."

With musical influences from labels like PoleGroup, Faut Section, Edit Select and more, NEKTER fills any club or warehouse with deep hypnotic beats, mind-melting frequencies and fat slammin' bass. Whether she's opening, closing, or headlining, expect nothing short of a proper hypnotic techno experience with NEKTER behind the decks.
