This time the spotlight is on another one of my favourite producers and a pioneer of the scene - Lemon D who alongside Dillinja is responsible for setting up Valve Recordings and designing and building the Valve Sound System - the only sound system purpose-built for drum and bass.

This months spotlight falls on the late great Marcus Intalex. Another amazing Producer behind some of my favourite all time DnB tunes. 
The term legend gets thrown around far too easily these days but this guy was a true D&B LEGEND
Co-Host of Da Intalex  Radio Show on Kiss 102 FM beween 1993 and 2000 and The founder of the record labels Soul:R, Revolve:R and Birdie.
For this episode I am gonna concentrate on the time  period between '94 and '04 with a selection of his releases under Marcus Intalex, Da Intalex, Some classic Remixes, Collaborations and alot of the tunes released with M.I.S.T.& Mist:i:cal with S.T Files & Calibre.

Drum & Bass Show Ep193 (3/10/25)

For This Months Label In Focus we go back to the early 90's and a formidable, powerhouse of a label back then - Basement Records.
Started up in 1990 Basement was run by Phil Wells (aka Basement Phil).
Responsible for some of the finest releases of the Rave Era and early Jungle Releases this mix is filled with classics from the likes of Top Buzz, Kev Bird & The Wax Doctor, DJ Mayhem, Hedgehog Affair, Two Dark Troopers, Ruff with The Smooth & The Sentinel.
So many of these tunes hold great memories for me, from the opening track (which Fabio opened his Amnesia House  - The Book Of Love set ( I had all the tape packs from that rave) to tunes like A New Direction, Living in Darkness and This is A Trip that were rinsed by Top Buzz, Carl Cox, Micky Finn, Grooverider, Stu Allan etc back in the day.

BASEMENT RECORDS ('91-'94)-Drum & Bass Show Ep194 (Label In Focus Series)

For this months Producer In Focus Episode it seems only fitting to shine the spotlight on Paul Saunders a.k.a WAX DOCTOR seeing as i featured a heap of his 1992 releases in my Basement Records label mix earlier this month.
Wax Doctor was a key figure in the early 90s Rave, Jungle and Drum & Bass scene.  Collaborating with notable producers like Alex Reece (Fallen Angels, Unit 1, Jazz Juice, Lunar Funk), DJ Pulse (Bounty Killaz) & Pascal (Clone Inc.) he played a major part  in shaping the atmospheric side of drum and bass, contributing to iconic labels like Metalheadz, Creative Wax, and R&S.
This mix focuses on the period between '93 and '95 featuring solo work,  collaborations and any remixes he did for others under either Wax Doctor or his Simon Templar pseudonym.

STEPPERS Set (16/11/25)

To celebrate episode 200 of my Radio Show it had to be a special episode right...?
As Goldie once stated "There are really only two kings of this music; Dillinja & Calibre. Everything in between is us,", so who better to have as this month's Producer in Focus than King Dillinja.
In all honesty i wanted to do this episode earlier, i was just in the process of hunting down a few hard to get tracks that were only available on compilation albums before putting this set together
This 2hr plus mix focuses on the time period between '93 and '95 and covers work as Dillinja and under other aliases (Capone, Trinity, Rups), remixes he did during this period and a few collabs with the late DJ Clarky R.I.P , who sadly passed away a few weeks ago.
To say he was prolific during this time period is a massive understatement - on top of all the stuff that is still only available on Vinyl (for big $$$ on Discogs), there is a heap of his work that has still never been released(there is a whole thread on Dogs on Acid website solely related to unreleased Dillinja tunes!!)
Thankfully due to the hard work of people like Dom & Roland and Deep Jungle/ Dj Harmony quite a few unreleased dubs from the 90's have finally seen the light of day over the last few years, with hopefully more in the future,

Drum & Bass Show Ep203 (12/12/25)

This Months Producer In Focus is Alex Reece and his work between 1994 and 1997.
Starting out as a Sound engineer for Basement Records in the early 90's, it was during this period that Alex also met Wax Doctor and DJ Pulse who he would end up working on future projects with - Fallen Angels, Unit 1, Jazz Juice, Interception and Lunar Funk - some of which feature in this mix.
Alex Reece is noted as being one of the main innovators of the Jazzstep  style of Drum & Bass which this mix is primarily focused on.
After initial hardcore releases on Basement and Liquid Wax under the The Reece Project, Kid Twist and Electronic Experienced he really made his name with classics Pulp Fiction and Basic Principles - both released on Metalheadz.
This mix covers both solo releases and collaborations as well as remixes he did for others during this time.

ALEX REECE ('94-'97) - Drum & Bass Show Ep204 (Producer In Focus Series)

A nearly 4hr mix celebrating some of the best releases of the year. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 
Over the course of this years Radio Shows  i have played 450+ new tunes from over 250 artists so to try and do a best of 2025 was a mission.
To make it easier to curate i made myself a rule that an artist could only feature once in the list  (excluding vocalists and if  the artists tune was being remixed by somebody else - hence DJ Trace appearing twice). 
This mix also features some dub pack only releases (Sauce/Break) , older lost tracks that finally saw the light of day this year (Krust)  or classics that finally saw a digital release in 2025 (Danny C/ Trace)
Even then, it pains me to leave alot of great tunes out from some amazing artists but i feel there is a fantastic selection here to take you on a journey through some of the best 2025 had to offer.
Starting with some of my favourite liquid tunes, then through wobblers and rollers that i have been playing out in clubs, through to a techy amen assault , before we round it off in the 160 range with some quality Jungle releases.
