As one of the brightest talents in the electronic music scene, Henry Saiz has crafted a unique path in his musical career. Not following any trends and refusing to fall into any category with his trademark sound that combines influences from club music and a wide range of styles like 80 ́s pop or progressive rock to name a few, his constant growth across the globe enabled him to spread his art to new audiences. In his first days as a DJ, Saiz released almost exclusively with big labels "with a focus on melody and community", as he puts it: Renaissance, Global Underground and Bedrock. He then created his own label Natura Sonoris, and by 2011 he had multiple Essential New Tunes, DJ Mag's label of the year, as well as released his critically acclaimed Balance DJ compilation. All that then gave him awards like DJ Mag Spain's 2012 Best Live Act, Best Label and Best Compilation. With his debut album titled "Reality Is For Those Who Are Not Strong Enough To Confront Their Dreams" (2013), he became one of the first musicians to crowdsource some of the album’s sounds. It's part of Saiz's self-effacing approach to even this most serious of artistic endeavours: he humbly offers to be the host of an intense, ongoing conversation between fans. Today Saiz is in a very fertile stage of his career. Still wanting to get closer to the crowd, he's returned to his first love - live bands - with an electronic trio that, apart from his solo performances, he’s also regularly touring the world with. Main highlights of the live band concept were their Boiler Room debut back in 2015 where guys delivered absolutely outstanding performance full of soul, powerful grooves, seductive vocals and thrilling emotions showing their particular approach to house music; as well as the launch of a world-traveling audiovisual project through Kickstarter in 2016 that achieved a huge success. This effort of trying to examine the relationship between environment and sound was materialized with a release of a sophomore album ‘Human‘ and a film that is a combination of both documentary and fiction. Within the same time he’s also released a debut album under his Hal Incandenza alias, launched a new label project ‘Lost Worlds Records‘, curated the new Balance compilation to celebrate a 10 year anniversary of his label Natura Sonoris, started a new project under an alias H.Haze to explore new musical terrains as a singer-songwriter, released lots of EPs, singles and remixes on such labels as Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Suara and his own Natura Sonoris to name a few, and kept company to all of his fans every single week ever since the beginning of the pandemic with his Youtube streaming show  ́At Home With Henry ́, while also hosting a show on Spanish National Radio ‘El Laberinto‘. All that while also constantly working on new music and a bunch of other side projects. He has performed and continues performing all over the globe. He has been part of festivals like Sonar, Glastonbury, Ultra, EXIT, Creamfields and Global Gathering among others and also iconic parties like Circoloco at DC10 Ibiza. Henry Saiz is one of the Spanish artists whose constant growth has enabled him to spread his music to new audiences and is, without doubt, one of the brightest talents on the global electronic music scene. Through his music, he tries to make the world feel more deeply. He’s an artist who wants more than just your ears – he wants your heart.

Progressive & organic house enthusiast from hypnotic to soulful grooves Aaron Cashion (AKA Frank Moss) enjoys creating a dance floor memory.

With early influence from listening to artists like Egbert, Dubfire and Booka Shade, Aaron’s music career wasn’t ignited until he started to run the infamous Fake Chow where his tastes in music started to flourish. Learning to curate lineups and promote underground music to a city that some would say wasn’t ready, he pushed those boundaries and played an integral part in growing electronic music and creating a cultural hub for Geelong. From there he has created and/or operated other businesses and parties like Ain’t No Siesta, Pivot City Music, UNO Danceclub, Menikmati DJ School and Bloom Nightclub, making Aaron a predominant figure in the Geelong underground music scene. And now he’s stepping away from Geelong and running progressive house events in Melbourne under his new creation, “With the Grain”.

Aside from running his own successful parties and mentoring the next generation of local DJs, Aaron has added a huge list of achievements to his resume: sharing the DJ booth with Guy J, Kasper Koman, Budakid, Khen, Patrice Baumel, Volen Sentir, Yotto, Dosem, Jeremy Olander, Victor Ruiz, Dubfire, Oliver Schories and more plus playing at some of the best festivals and venues Australia has to offer.

The conceptual experience from Damian Lazarus and his team of dedicated and visionary musicians and artists lies just three short days away. In speaking to Defected recently about what fans can expect, Damian says: “Partying has actually become quite safe; you buy your ticket to an event and can pretty much imagine exactly how it will pan out before you walk through the door. I love the idea of creating something where there is an uncertainty; where there is room for the element of surprise... some kind of danger and mystery. I think Day Zero offers these exciting qualities.” The genesis of this was a spiritual experience that followed a conversation with a Shaman on the beach in Tulum where Lazarus raised his hands to the moon and felt the presence of an “electric force field.”

Considering this, it’s hard not to feel the hairs on the back of your neck start to tingle as you imagine what is to come. The feeling that accompanies dancing with your favorite friends and strangers to the underground’s best artists amongst ancient pyramids constructed by a race of people who felt their calendar didn’t need the ability to forecast past the day in which the event will take place surely won’t be something we’ll ever forget.

In advance of this fantastic, magical adventure, which at one point felt too far in the future to feel real, Thugfucker and Shaun Reeves have graciously teamed up to put together their Timewave(day)zero podcast which seems an appropriately deep and introspective aural journey of introspective reflection. It’s more chill than pumping but is 100% something that will positively inform your soul’s position along the spiritual horizon. We are proud to present our October Exclusive Series Mix, brought to you by the very accomplished and super talented - Gustin.  

Currently based in Ibiza, Gustin is resident for The Soundgarden events series and also co-manager and A&R for onedotsixtwo.

He began his DJ career in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland, playing inner city house parties and illegal after hours clubs in the mid 90’s. Then upon re-locating to Amsterdam just after the millennium he caught the ear of Jayhwalk, resulting in a residency allowing him to fully develop his sound alongside industry stalwarts such as Matthew Dekay and Hippee & Halo and also curated his own weekly event named ‘House of Progress’ (HoP) where he played regular seven to eight hour solo sets.

In 2015 Gustin moved to Ibiza where he currently lives, but he can regularly be found playing across Europe, the USA and South America.

Gustin’s infectious sound makes a dancefloor move from the bottom up with a unique blend of lush, pumping, tech and prog house music. 

This mix is totally live, done in one take by Gustin at home in Ibiza.  It is a dance floor mix and to understand his motivation for his choice of tracks, let's hear from the man himself....
