"Day of a DJ" - Beon1x Festival - Organic Stage Live

The creation of this DJ set was a challenge that I took seriously. I was tasked with opening the night for incredible artists such as Gheist, Kostas Kritikos, and Undercatt at Beonix's first pre-party of 2023. As Gheist was the main headliner, I decided to do some research on them. I discovered that they were a Berlin-based band with a deep, melodic sound that blended progressive and minimal house with breakbeat infusions. They used minimal vocal tracks and created a melancholic and euphoric vibe mainly through the use of synth instruments and electronic sounds.
This was a bit different from my usual music choice, but I was up for the challenge. I decided that my performance should combine both my identity and a bridge that would lead the audience to the Gheist performance. Part one of my set would be bright and melodic, while part two would be rough and dark. 
I wanted to create an unforgettable experience for the audience and set the tone for the rest of the night. When the night finally arrived, I stepped up to the decks with confidence and began my set. The crowd was energized and ready to dance, and I could feel the excitement building as I seamlessly transitioned from part one to part two.
As Gheist took the stage, I knew that I had done my job. My set had successfully set the tone for the night and led the audience to the main headliner. 

The inspiration for this mixtape was dreams. I have always had a strong connection between music and dreams, and I often fall asleep while listening to a mix or playlist. I find that music is my way to dreams, and it helps me to relax and drift off into a peaceful sleep.
One day, I came across a beautiful track called "Everybody Dreams" by Romain Garcia. The track features the voices of children telling about their dreams of who they want to become. I decided to use it as the intro and make it the main theme of my mixtape: Dream! Music is the way!
I always strive to create a story for my listeners, and I believe that a great mixtape is like a book that creates a path for the listener to follow. Good books ask questions, but great books ask questions and help you find your own answers. 
As the author of my book, I must help the listeners find their answers. And my experience tells me that "Music is the Way". This track by Spada I used as the final track of my mixtape. It's a perfect example of how music can help you to dream and find your way.

The story I have created is based on the Yin and Yang theory, which represents the balance between two opposing forces. In this case, the opposing forces are good and bad dreams. We all have them, but in different proportions. Good dreams leave us feeling energized and capable of doing amazing things, while bad dreams can leave us feeling drained and anxious.

However, I believe that both good and bad dreams are equally important. They represent the balance between light and dark, positive and negative. When kids have bad dreams, it is a way for their brains to learn about the world and understand what they shouldn't do in real life. But ultimately, everything in this world has two sides, and it's important to find a balance between them.

My mixtape represents this balance between good and bad dreams. The bright and pleasant tracks represent the good dreams, while the darker and scarier tracks in the style of Gheist represent the bad dreams. Together, they create a perfect balance, just like the Yin and Yang symbol. The mixtape takes the listener on a journey through the different emotions and experiences that come with both good and bad dreams, ultimately creating a sense of balance and harmony.

I’m so happy to release my new mixtape! It is heavily inspired by Jan Blomqvist music. I’m a huge fan of him so one day I came up with an idea to put few of his tracks in a mix. Then, I thought it should not be just another mix but a story! I became so obsessed with creating It but was not happy with results for quite a long time! I kept trying and trying nonetheless and it seems that my efforts payed off. It is a first mixtape that I don’t want to redo :))) I don’t say it’s perfect. Probably not. But I feel that it needs no changes. It a complete story and it has to be like this. So let me invite you for a trip. Close your eyes and let the music lead you!
