What? - DJ’s / Dance Music Scene

When? - Every Third Thursday 7pm - 12 midnight

Who? - Anybody that is into their dance music

On Rotation is a DJ and Dance Music project brought to you by Noel Lowdon and the Live Room Cleckheaton. The project is aimed at bringing a dance music scene back into the Spen Valley area and will be an opportunity for aspiring local DJ’s to play in a live venue. The night will run very much like a club night that is only really seen in the major cities across the UK which generally involves much expense. These nights will be free entry for people to come and enjoy the club experience at a local level.

The Live Room has invested in the towns entertainment scene and is bringing quality acts to the town in both music and entertainment. This project will add another dimension to the already successful start that the Live Room has established since opening.

The night will be hosted by Noel Lowdon and will feature a warm up two hours from 7pm - 9pm which will include both new releases and dance music classics from the past 25 years. Then there will be 3 DJ slots who will all get a one hour set to showcase their skills providing a variety of dance music across all spectrums.

Noel Lowdon is a 39 year old DJ from the north of the UK based in West Yorkshire. He has been in the DJing scene for 20 years now and continues to move with the times in this ever evolving industry. 

He started out with the Technics 1210's and still uses these to DJ on at certain events, running a successful number of vinyl only nights in the latter part of 2012. He has evolved through the 'CD era' and now uses a pair of CDJ2000 Nexus and DJM900 Nexus either as standalone or through Traktor with an F1 controller or X1 Mk2. 

From 2011 to 2014 he presented a successful monthly podcast entitled Transposition which covered a whole host of genres of some of the latest dance music and featured guest mixes from some big name DJ's from the north of the UK. In December 2013 he took the show on the road for a live broadcast with supporting DJs to a local crowd with much success.

In April 2013 he produced a promotional podcast for the massive Leeds based night 'Shine' for their summer night Shine presents 'The hacienda' at The leeds Warehouse. This was well received and has resulted in him producing the official Shine Podcast for all shine events covering DJ's Dave Seaman, Justin Robertson, Jeremy Healy & Danny Rampling to date.

He produces a monthly podcast for MPFit gyms in Leeds which features an hours worth of some of the more motivating dance music for workouts and provides snippets of info about monthly goings on in MPFit

2015 see's a change in that he will be concentrating on mixing only, bringing a periodic mix entitled LOWDON CLEAR throughout the year. This will be a 60 min mix of fresh new dance music to showcase both the music and his mixing ability. As always stay tuned.
