This is the first double-sided single from Blackbox: Kasamaan, the long-awaited new sequel to the Blackbox album from Ophidian.

The original Blackbox—released as five 7" vinyls—has earned cult status among fans, who’ve been asking for a sequel ever since. Now, the wait is over.

Mirroring the first album, Series 2 will unfold across five double releases, culminating in the full album on digital, 12" vinyl, and CD—complete with additional material.

The album title refers to the place humans inhabit in the universe. Ophidian: "The candle is a tiny light, the star the largest we know. We exist somewhere in between." For this album he has teamed up with known acts like Ruffneck, Tapage and The Outside Agency, but also spent quality studio time with new collaborators like Tha Playah and Minckz. 

Also featured are remixes of his tracks by among others Rude Awakening and The Viper. He himself worked on remixes for DJ Promo, Angel and Miss Hysteria.  On the album, disc 1 features mainly the brand new songs and collabs, and disc 2 is a collection of the remixes and tracks recently released on other labels.

This mix is a tribute to my love of early 2000’s Darkcore, combined with the drive of modern day Hard Techno.
In my mind this just sounded like a combination that would work. In practice, it was still quite a bit of work to get the completely different sounds aligned, but I think the end result was well worth the effort. Enjoy!

Over the last year I've released quite a number of remixes that have done really well and have had a lot of dancefloor exposure.
Seeing as they were released on many different labels and shops, I decided it might be a good idea to collect them all together in a series of releases, specially for my personal Bandcamp.

This first release in the Remix Recap series collects three of the best recent Techno and Hardcore remixes into a single EP, and also includes a slightly older banging remix released in 2022, as a bonus.

There are no new tracks on this EP, but it could be for you in case you missed one of them, or just want to organize and get them all from a single source.

Massive thanks to Cancel, 100 Kilo Maarten, Base Alert and DJ Hidden for including me on their amazing projects.
