"Acorde al comportamiento de la mayoría de los suicidas, sentada en el escritorio de su habitación escribió una nota temblorosa en tinta roja que decía: Me arrojo al mar. Dos días antes había garabateado su famoso poema: "Voy a dormir", dedicado a su hijo. A la una de la mañana del martes salió a la calle en el más absoluto silencio. Nadie la vio partir. Con paso lento avanzó por las calles polvorientas hasta llegar a la escollera del Club Argentino de Mujeres, que en aquel momento se elevaba sobre el mar en una extensión de 200 metros. Uno de sus zapatos quedó atrapado entre los fierros antes de saltar al agua."

Jean Tassy Vs Kamau & Talib Kweli . Só!

May 5th marks the release of Village Cuts’ new single ‘Banzutu’ - one of their most highly anticipated dubs. Banzutu is a collaboration with Congolese musician Mulele Matondo Afrika (Kongo Dia Ntotila, Devils of Moko) linking up to create an uplifting and powerful addition to your summer soundtrack.

Mulele commands the march with his distinctive vocal chants and stomping bass guitar, accompanied by a wall of interweaving seben guitar patterns, building towards an explosion of pumping sub bass to get the club and your body bouncing. Tried and tested on the dancefloor, this unique collaboration brings joy and energy wherever it is played. 

Their friendship was formed in East London’s live music scene where Mulele can often be seen performing and educating people with his innovative brand of Congolese music. After Kongo Dia Ntotila headlined a Village Cuts event back in 2019, they decided to join forces in building a track that combines both Mulele’s musical brilliance with Village Cuts’ club sonics. 

Sung in Lingala the track will make you ‘sunda na lofenio’ (move your hips) and ‘ningisa’ (shake) all night long!

Dj Opso is from Nantes, France. For the past fifteen years, he has shared his passion for global groove. After several trips to the French West Indies, he specializes in Caribbean, African and Latin music. He is also an artistic programmer in the association "Groove Au Logis" with which he organizes concerts around Caribbean music. Notably the  Kréyol Djaz festival, which featured artists such as Erick Cosaque, Dowdelin, Cami Laye Okun, Edmony Krater, Sonny Troupé, Max Cilla, Chassol, Casey, David Walters, Voilaaa Sound System and Calyps' Atlantic !

He also played with :
