Beat Battle 112 - take the rhythm of a famous melody (in this case - "Enjoy the Silence") and turn it into your own melody. Easy work in Studio One - using the excellent chord track. All I needed was a progression - of which there are three (including a descending "Circle of Fifths"). Quite happy with this one and would love to know what you think - good or bad.

Azam Ali — Spring Arrives

In 2006 the Bombay Dub Orchestra’s lush brand of South Asian, orchestral electronica got the remix treatment from a cast of master producers on this special EP. 

Down-tempo kings, Thievery Corporation lent their indelibly blunted musical stamp to “Feel” while global electronica pioneer, Banco de Gaia turned in an epic, cinematic mix of “Beauty & the East”. The USA’s Spider delivered a “hands in the air” club anthem with his “To the Shore” mix [a personal favourite] and DJ Drez added beautiful chilled soundscapes to his re-rub.

We celebrate two years of Shika Shika with the release of our third compilation: Eco. 

Eco sums up what Shika Shika is about - the global reverberations of styles, genres, traditions and sounds moving around the world and fusing to create inspiring new music. We call it music without borders and on Eco we present 11 tracks that are exactly that. 

The tracks we hand-picked for Eco draw inspiration from traditional rhythms, stories and melodies and fuse them with individual inspirations, sounds from nature and electronic music. This is exemplified on Di Laif’s anthemic opener “Paso Por el Fuego” or Guazú’s incredible “Pava de Monte” featuring Wenceslada. Some artists like Jin Jerei and Oxhalá take us on a journey deep into their roots while others like Didacte and O.R. create atmospheric textural, electronic-organic soundscapes. Ibu Selva’s “Chega de Esperar” is a rework of a Brazilian agrarian reform anthem while Klik & Frik offer up a beautiful edit of Hassan Ben Jaafar, a master of Moroccan Gnawa music. 

It is hard to believe it has been two years since Shika Shika was started as a platform to showcase some of the music we truly loved from the thriving community from Sao Paulo to Seoul. Two years of connections, exchanges, ideas, new sounds and, most of all, incredible support and feedback from the people who listen & buy this music all over the world. We started Shika Shika as a way to give exposure and support to this community, sharing 70% of all the profits with the artists directly, and are inspired to continue pushing the music we love. 

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. We all appreciate it dearly.

A Very Dream progressive track, which we believe to be fitting in the biggest DJ's Sets, with its Massive Sounds and its very Unique Chord progressive. this track for sure is enough to get your hairs on the back of your neck to stand up throughout the duration of this piece. The breakdown in this track does not have too much going on melody wise, Gently bringing out a Crisp & Clean Saw Lead to great avail, that is what makes this track so special.

Our VERY good friend Estigma has for sure stamped his print on this track with a mixture of Tech Trance and Uplifitng. his fast grooves and his Epic breakdowns give this track a totally different Direction, maybe focused on the Headlining section of any club night.


Everybody knows Mike van Fabio and this remix clarifies why we know him sooo well. Just as you thought this track could not go in YET another direction Mike proves you wrong. This is for sure a little taste of what the 00's usesd to be like but still bringing it up to 2013 standard. Incredibly euphoric and and uplifting. With lots of gated vocals and pads simultaneously pushing the baseline and very clean percussion to its limits. Carrying on through the breakdown until those SuperSaws take Emotional Effect.

We Can garuntee that if you don't have this in your collection you collection will feel EMPTY.
