Paulo Alves was born in 1978 in Luanda, the capital city of Angola. Son to Cape-Verdean parents, Paulo entered the music industry in 1995 at the early age of 16, while his country was undergoing a bloody civil war.

At the early stage of his career it was very difficult to access new music. “We used to buy the records at a unit price of $50 USD back then. There was only one shop in Luanda selling them – at the time it was RMS and they often couldn’t find the records I was searching.

He produced the radio shows “Alta Tensão” (High Voltage), Supermix and Explosão Jovem (Youth Explosion), all of them linked to electronic music and in the last 8 years, together with his elder brother and DJ – Ricardo Alves they run MixFM one of the most listened radio shows in the Angolan radio landscape.

In 2009 and together with 2 more partners Paulo formed RPR Productions, a leading event company in the electronic music landscape of Angola.
DJ Paulo Alves released three compilations: MixFM - 2 years ,15 Years Career Celebration and Fanta DJ Tour .

Along with his brother Ricardo Alves, they were voted best Angolan Djs 2011 by the Angolan Fashion Awards and was again awarded BEST DJ by the Angolan Music Awards in 2014.

Already considered a superstar in his country, Paulo been named brand ambassador for Ballantine’s Angola for the second consecutive year that. This cooperation led to a massive promotional campaign in Angola, which includes a TV commercial, among several other activities.

He shared the stage with dozens of star DJs such as Little Louie Vega , Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Copyright, Hardsoul, Gregor Salto, Coyu, Black Coffee, Shovell, Chappel, Boddhi Satva and Boney M, among many, many others.

Paulo regularly performs in all Angolan provinces, and has had various guest performances in Portugal, South Africa, Namibia, Cape Verde, Brazil, etc...

In 2013 Paulo Alves co-promoted Sangano Summer Beats and Electro Bay Festival, considered the biggest electronic music events to date in Angola, with the second one accounting over 75'000 people.

In July 2014 Paulo performed for over 12 consecutive hours for and audience of over 11’000 people at the Praça da Independência (Independence Square) in Luanda, and established a national record.

Frequently acclaimed as the Masters of House Music in Angola alongside his brother Ricardo Alves, they’re considered the driving forces of electronic music in the country.

2015 will certainly be one of the most exciting years for Paulo, which besides his 20 Years Career Celebration, holds many surprises.
