In the midst of a meteoric rise and a riding high of her recent release on Pig & Dan’s Elevate imprint, Amelie Lens returns home to Second State with an absolutely stellar three tracker delivering her signature sound of sultry vocals, cryptic atmospheres and massive drums. The ‘Contradiction’ EP kicks off with the title track of the same name with an enormous kick drum as fragments of Amelie’s lush vocals introduce a fever inducing acid line culminating in a rugged yet profoundly energetic tune, proving that less is truly more. ‘Drift’ follows suit and once again proves that Amelie’s minimalist approach has massive results. By utilizing a few powerful elements, ‘Drift’ dives into the heavy ethereal creating the perfect balance between tension and serenity. Wrapping up the release Lens delivers the most psychedelic cut of the EP with ‘Resonance’. Another masterpiece in the minimal approach, Amelie utilizes a simple shimmering synth as the vehicle in which to traverse a dark world of intense percussive sonics. Get ready to take a journey. Oscar Mulder, better known as DJ Perroz, is a seasoned techno producer from the Netherlands with a rich history in the music scene. His journey began in the 90s, deeply influenced by the hardcore genre, before taking a hiatus. However, his love for electronic music never waned, and a thoughtful gift from his wife – a DJ controller – reignited his passion five years ago. Since then, he has immersed himself in the driving techno sound, drawing inspiration from both past and present icons like Buzz Fuzz and Charlotte de Witte.  

Oscar’s music is a reflection of his diverse influences, blending modern techno with nostalgic 90s elements, characterized by storytelling arrangements and a touch of simplicity. His creative process resembles that of crafting a narrative, with each track telling its own story. Despite embarking on his musical journey alone, Oscar acknowledges the pivotal role of Adriana Vega, whose support and belief in his talent led to the signing of his track “Focus and Concentration.” 

His mantra of self-belief and authenticity resonates deeply with fellow artists, as he encourages them to stay true to their sound while continually evolving. In the years to come, Oscar envisions himself performing his music regularly, fueled by his unwavering passion for techno and dedication to his craft.
