Peter-Paul Pigmans (31 January 1961 – 27 August 2003) was a Dutch gabber music producer, best known for his production under the pseudonym 3 Steps Ahead.

Born in Berkel en Rodenrijs and based out of Rotterdam, Pigmans' music is widely considered one of the most innovative specimens of the gabber genre; while many gabber producers favor raw force and little virtuosity when creating a song, Pigmans' music always had a strong technical side, and his songs often featured atmospherical elements, an unusual thing in the genre at the time.[citation needed] He was also known for his extremely wild live shows.[citation needed]

His first full-length album Most Wanted & Mad (1997) reached #35 on the Dutch album top 100.

Pigmans was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1999. On 18 July 2003 in Zaandam at the Hemkade stadium, fellow Dutch producers organized a fundraising event for him called "3 Steps Ahead 4 Life" where the cream of the Dutch gabber scene performed (for free - all income was spent on his treatment in hope of curing him) and paid respect to him. A couple of weeks later, he died. Two months later the annual Thunderdome started with a one-minute silence in his memory.

He's been elected into the Thunderdome Hall of Fame.

Subway Shamans are true idols to me and were among the very first artists from the scene that I genuinely looked up to.
Their sound and attitude played a big role in shaping how I experience and understand tekno, and this track is both a tribute and a personal continuation of that influence.

Amsterdam born and raised DJ Predator, a.k.a. Stephan Scheltema, had to deal with creative mind all his life. Lost in grafitti art during his childhood, he became intrigued by early Rap music, Breakbeats, Reggae and Electro. The purchase of a Commodore Amiga in 1991, provided him with the means to experiment with beats and breaks himself. Influenced by his love for music and driven by the the rage of a young boy, he established his first release on vinyl in 1992. Over a period of six years, he managed to release more than sixty tracks, most of them on labels such as Mokum, Ruffneck, Ruff EX, Cenobite and H2Oh.
With the growth of the dance scene in general, Predators star was rising, providing him with more equipment and possibilities.

Living his dream of expressing his musical thoughts on recordings and spending all his time and money and on his studio. Hit releases like Jiiiieehaaaa, Pump Up The Vibe and Mind Of A Lunatic brought him recognition from around the globe, resulting in live performances and DJ bookings in worldwide, from Canada to Australia, from Russia to the United States, Germany, Holland, Swiss, the UK and more.

Slowly but surely maturing his natural love for Hiphop and Breaks, these musical styles started to sneak into his productions.
Although still using a steady beat, he more and more found himself applying sophisticated drum patterns to his tracks, giving them more funk and more speed. In 1998, longing for a new creative challenge. From that moment on he wanted to present his dark, claustrophobic atmospheres to the Drum n Bass scene. The shift immediately proved to be a success. As Dutch imprints A New Dawn and Acetate Recordings were securing Predators singles, UK labels such as 5HQ / Formation were quickly snatching up pairs of their own. In 2001, he joined one of the most prestigeous Dutch crews named Bassground and
was voted best Dutch Drum n Bass producer in 2002.

While devellopping new Hardcore and Drum n Bass tracks, Predator has his sights set on the future, so be on the look out as he is determined to come correct across the board.
