Zurich's finest exporter of Techno - Adroit Recordings continue to keep the pressure up with the next instalment of their VA series 'Archive'. This is the 3rd chapter - an addition that will tear through sound systems as savagely as it's predecessors as an assemblage of artists from all over Europe come together. 

First up is A R T S and Hypercolour affiliate Roberto Clementi who kicks the project off to a rugged start. His track 'Agonia On Path' drives a stony, burnt-out kick hurtles through congas and a rhythmic whine. Frazzled hats and darting delayed signals fly overhead as the track bleeds in and out of focus in a manner that will continually wake up the dance floor. 

Next up is Italian duo Asymptote with their quick and effective offering 'The Dawn' which unfolds like a live jam. Percussion steadily leaks in and thickens as volumes, filters and FX are manually handled in a manner akin to early Skudge. Fellow Italians Exilles then follow up with the rich and mysterious 'Nextar'. A mesmerising synth melody flickers in amongst bit crushed strings and reverberated claps as a heaving kick is deftly bought in and out of the mix. 

Next is the Berlin based, Dutch producer Esther Dune. She follows up a string of releases dating back as far as 2009 with the manic and electrifying 'T- (minus) Ten’. Eye-widening, razor sharp riffs are set rebounding off each other while a straight 4/4 bangs against the walls demonstrating the unassailable skills of a consummate professional. 

Next up is Aurora with the intricate and progressive 'Snake Pit' which unfurls in chapters consisting of mangled digital frequencies, iron-clad percussive elements and horror-movie synth lines. Newcomer Unconformist follows up and doesn't hang about with his 'Enter The Void'; a fast and exhilarating cruise into orbit which is propelled by whetted drums and rich melodies. 

Zurich bases Dicanio then weighs in with 'Samba Distortion' which offers up bright and expressive drums and a rubbery kick that are set galloping with rushing urgency under a dystopian vocal sample before Kyiv based Incorrect Waves offers up 'Scissors 1991'. Here - rough, fizzing drums career through alarming stabs and an elasticated synth FX which nestle it into the comp nicely and bring it to a suitably raucous close.

Today we premiere a stunning remix from British techno don Blue Hour, as he put’s an ecstasy driven spin on the The Chronics original. Pulverising low end grooves, brisk breakbeats & euphoric synth lines make for a classy re-work from one of the UK’s finest techno craftsmen.

Crafting his own sound since making his debut back in 2018, Geneva-based DJ, producer, and label owner The Chronics is stepping things up as he showcases his take on techno. Founder of Bipolar Disorder records, his productions have since been picked up by the likes of RAW and Vitus’ Case, merging pacy breakbeat nuances with more traditional influences to deliver ever-changing and unpredictable journeys.

Up next, he returns on home turf to the label’s vinyl-focused series, offering two powerful originals across ‘Cosmic Delight’, backed by dynamic remixes courtesy of label co-owner Chlär and British techno mainstay Blue Hour.

Blue Hour’s sound is synonymous with the UK, as he blurs the lines between techno and rave focussed grooves of jungle, acid techno and hay-wired breakbeats.

Blue Hour’s spin on The Chronic’s original is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the now Berlin based producer. Tough low end groove lays a foundation for sizzling breakbeats, that simmer along, peaking in and out of the mix, leaving a ravishing scent of UK character in their path. Luscious pads and sauntering synth lines put an elated end of the night spin on an otherwise rough neck anthem. This is peak-time head banging slaughter, with just the right amount of euphoria to make it stand on it’s on two feet, among a two strong originals and a hearty remix from Chlär

Psytox (aka Norman Bates, MDNT:SON, Didier Beydts, Svemirski, PSTX) has been dj'ing since 1989. Rather than being pigeonholed into one style of music, he mixes very eclectic sets, including elements of acid, house, techno, deephouse, minimal, breakz, d'n'b,... . It has brought him to a wide variety of venues in different scenes.
Together with Edward Molton he also founded his own imprints Coincidence and Coincidental Records, who have been releasing Techno from artists like Jeroen Search, 6SISS, Esther Duijn, Ruffneck Prime, Rebekah, Marcel Fengler, Developer, Delta Funktionen, Charlotte de Witte, Conforce, Mary Velo, Tom Hades, Layr and many more. He also produces and releases on Rhythm Converted and Be As One. He also promotes his own nights at Kompass Klub, Café d'Anvers and Tomorrowland's infamous "Rave Cave". So hard working is definitely a suitable description.

He has been known to play extensive sets (up to 15 hours straight) at established events such as Tomorrowland, Kozzmozz, Thé Dansant, Wanted Berlin, Extrema Outdoor, Lost Theory Festival,… and venues such as Kompass Klub, Now & Wow, Other Side, Zodiak, Tresor, Cafe d'Anvers, Fuse, Chalet, Charlatan, Decadance and Silo to name just a few.
