Tribute to the MCs from Mavrick Internash Sound(Leeds, UK)- in the 1980s - Part 1 : Body Popper
This is an audio compilation of various soundtape clips from the 1980s featuring wicked MC Body Popper - who was one of the main deejays on Mavrick Internash Sound from Chapeltown, Leeds, UK....
When we think of well-known UK Reggae MCs from the 1980's most people will mention deejays from London or the Midlands .... 
BUT how many MCs from the north of England from 1980s ever gained any national recognition in the UK ? - I cant think of many - and part of the reason for this maybe due to the lack of the availability of soundtapes from the Northern sounds - most of whom never widely released their audios. Saxon & Coxsone tapes were so widely distributed that people in far flung towns across the UK became familiar with their MCs - even if they hadn't had the chance to see them playing live .....
After listening to a few Mavrick tapes I was so impressed with their MCs that I decided to put together a compilation of clips for each of their main deejays .......
Part 1 this week showcases the talent of Body Popper - who many argue was the best MC in the North of England in the 1980s......
I hope to release more parts in the coming weeks and would love to hear your feedback on how talented you think these MCs from Mavrick Sound were...
