After his production contributions for critically acclaimed groups such as P.O.C, BVK and doing music for TV/ Film and various artist, Grand Master Ready D decided to revisit his B Boy roots.

The album captures the heart and soul of Hip Hop’s foundation and Battle Breaks combining DJ Ready D’s Turntablist scratch acrobatics. The project is packed with uptempo beats designed to challenge and take dancers to their limits. DJ Ready D deliver his lyrical skill on his track titled – No Pressure – collaborating with two of South Africa’s most talented rappers – Youngsta Cpt and Veezo ( Jhb). This freedom day Prophets Of The City  will be re-releasing their 1994 hit “Da Struggle Kontinues.” Our country may be a democracy, yet we still have to fight the traces of apartheid's lingering impact every day. Celebrate with a reminder from the Boom-Bap legends that its not over; everyone one of us is still a catalyst for radical change.

 Prophets of Da City (POC), is a hip hop crew from Cape Town, South Africa. They were one of South Africa’s first musical acts to draw international attention and acclaim with their hard hitting anti-apartheid lyrics which furthered the fight against the oppressive regime, not only internationally but, they kept the message of liberation through pro-activity close to the nations' youth.

The song will be available, FREE OF CHARGE, across all platforms as of tomorrow the 27th April 2018. It serves to commemorate  our 24th year as a free nation; free to vote, free from racial oppression but most all free to change our future. A luta continua, Da Struggle Kontinues.

During the course of 5 years I've recorded a collection of beats dedicated to bboys - this is one of them.

DJ Ready D - B Boy Domination

African DJ/Producer/Turntablist/Performer/Drifter/Radio & television personality.

Best known as the DJ for (POC) Prophets of the City, DJ Ready D toured Europe extensively with POC for a period of six years and performed alongside groups like Public Enemy, Fugees, Ice T, Spearhead, James Brown, Rob Swift, Steve D, Will Smith, Black Eyed Peas, DJ Spinna, Jazzy Jeff, etc.

Apart from performing in clubs, DJ Ready D took the art of hip hop DJing into many areas where it was unknown, including big music events around South Africa such as the Ice Festival, Synergy, Camel Experience, Oppikoppi and the KKNK Festival (a week-long tour into rural and underprivileged areas where most of the community do not have electricity), Woodstock Festival, Alex Groll International Inline Skating Championships, Redbull Downhill Extreme Champs, Grahamstown Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and various TRADE and expo shows.

DJ Ready D played at the Presidential Inauguration of Nelson Mandela and the Quincy Jones Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland. DJ Ready D also appeared alongside POC in the movie Dangerous Ground, starring Ice Cube and Liz Hurley.

DJ Ready D was also Master of Ceremonies, DJ and producer of the group Brasse Vannie Kaap and also reviews DJ equipment and writes DJ advice for music magazines. Currently hosts his own shown on one of South Africa's biggest commercial radio stations Good Hope FM (Mon-Thurs 8pm -11pm www.goodhopefm.co.za and is owner of Scratch Lab DJ Training Facility with DJ Azuhl & E20.
