December Delight 2024

2024 was an incredible year in so many ways. Personally, I grew more than I ever expected, and musically, I explored new horizons, met new friends, and had new gigs. But the year wasn’t without its struggles. One of the hardest moments came toward the end when I had to say goodbye to my beloved disco pup Bentley. It was a deeply challenging time for me and my family, and for a while, I couldn’t find the energy or mindset to record this mix. It wasn’t until I felt ready that I was able to channel everything—the joy, the pain, the growth—into this set.

I also want to take a moment to thank all the amazing artists whose tracks made this mix possible. Your creativity and talent inspire me endlessly and have been the soundtrack to my journey this year. This mix is as much a tribute to your work as it is a celebration of the past twelve months.

This mix is a heartfelt reflection on what has been an unforgettable year for me, both personally and musically. Over 2.5 hours, I take you on a journey through the sounds that shaped my sets this year: Deep Tech, Progressive, Techno, Raw/Hypnotic Trance, and a touch of Psytrance to close things out. Each track is a piece of the puzzle, capturing the highs, the challenges, and everything in between.

Monthly Melodies 2024 Recap

January Jumble came together later than expected, a reflection of the twists and turns life threw my way at the start of the year. But sometimes, the best journeys are the unplanned ones. This mix is designed for you to put your headphones on and escape—whether that means getting lost in deep thought, finding your focus while working, or simply letting your mind wander.

January Jumble

This months episode of Monthly Melodies is really fun one. February has been a bit of a trip personally—some stumbles, some lessons, but always moving forward. This month's mix is a ride through Progressive with some Techno sprinkled in, starting at 123 BPM and building up to 131 BPM. I will say that I played more progressive than I normally would to open up the show, but I go up to the big boys faster than I normally would as well. This one’s for you—the amazing 5,000 of you who’ve supported me on this journey. To celebrate hitting 5K subscribers on YouTube, I put together a special 3 hour mix that takes you on a true Journey. I start at 116 BPM, with some house and Deep house, and then move on through to 135 BPM. In the middle I play Melodic House and Techno, as well as Indie Dance, Progressive, Techno, and leave it with some trance and then psy trance.

Fan Appreciation Mix (Thanks for getting me to 5K on youtube!)

This track marks a huge personal milestone—the first piece of music I’ve ever made that I’m truly proud of. It’s taken a long journey to get here. I’ve made countless tracks before this one, most of which never saw the light of day because they never felt right. But this one does.

Make Up Your Mind

Que Vuelta mi jente! Welcome to another episode of Monthly Melodies. July’s been feeling smooth so far… so it only felt right to call this one Jazzy July. This month’s mix is filled with progressive energy, techno grooves, and a touch of raw and hypnotic trance to keep you locked in. It's definitely a musical journey that starts off very slow at 120 BPM and finished in the 130 range. This mix put me in a trance that I felt like I could of kept going forever. I also got more acquainted / familiar with the stems from Traktor and BOY was that fun. I hope you enjoy the mix and it puts you into a flow state like it did for me making it.

Monthly Melodies Jazzed July

This August i'm feeling incredibly accomplished, and blessed. I have 4 big events on the horizon, and I can't wait to see you all at them! For starters, on Friday August 15th we have a 6 hour stream coming from EL garage where we will be playing all of the Genres with the whole Vice City Gang. Then next week August 22nd, I will be taking the stage with my homegirl Tatianna at Mazuma, opening up for the great Giuseppe Ottaviani.  On Septempber 20th, the whole vice city crew will be taking over Earthly Delights in Ridgewood NY. If you're in the area, please hit me up on my instagram to come by because it's going to be a private event, but it will be us playing ALL NIGHT LONG! Then....this is the big one, we will be playing M2 formerly known as Mansion on October 3rd! This one is very special to me, because i've spent so much time there. We will be taking over the room from 10-5, and we got a BANGING line up as usual with the Vice city Crew. I hope that if you can't make it to all, you can at least make it to one. I and the whole vice city crew would really love that. With all of that being said, I feel accomplished :). This time last year, I hadn't played a gig in a nightclub in over 4 years. To think about that, and now all that I have going on, I truly have to pinch myself. Thank you for listening and supporting me and hope to see you on the dance floor!

Monthly Melodies Accomplished August

I decided to release this because I wanted to remember what my old sound was like and how far i've come. However, this set will always hold a really special place in my heart. It was recorded at Estansia Culibrina in homestead for a party at a friends house. I played for 7 hours and this is the first 2.5 hours of that 7 hour mix. I wanted to start it off REALLY slow and build it up. Which is exactly what I did. Started with some deep tech, and deep house and then go into a bit more housey vibe. I hope you enjoy it, but you'll never enjoy it as much as I did making it :). Cheers!

Farm 2014 Part 1

This month’s mix was a late night sesh. I had not been able to find the time to record this mix, although been wanting to for over a week. Life has been a little hectic lately, but it's all been going amazing! This month last year, sparked a great opportunity for me to get back into the game, and this year is no different! I'm blessed to be able to play NYC this weekend, and M2 Miami at the beginning of October. Then the Vice City gang will be taking over the White Elephant on October 27th. September always sparks a month of change and new beginnings, i'm happy to say that this one is no different :). This is a very special live recording from Earthly Delights NYC. Sadly it's the last time I will be able to play there as they are closing their doors. The night was magical by design. All of the Vice City Crew came up to NYC to play at this amazing club and do a take over. It was literally a dream come true. The fog got to be a bit much at times, so I apologize for not having the right lighting in place. However, the music quality was not an issue this time. Monnthly Meldodies Outstanding October

This month has been a bit like the title states, NONSTOP. However, I wouldn't have it any other way! Been blessed with such a great group of friends, and such great opportunities and I wouldn't have it any other way. We have been blessed to have had a great event and opportunity opening for Anastasiia to open the month, as well as a great event at Beat Culture this past weekend. Thankful to everyone that has come out to this and any other event that we have ever had in the past 5 months! It truly means the world to us to have people that support what we're trying to do. 

With that being said, we have two events on the very near horizon and we hope that you'll be able to make it to one if not both of them, but if you have to chose, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to M2 for Tiki Tiki Nights! I promise it's an event that you are NOT going to want to miss. We are going ALL out on decorations and as always the music is going to be top notch! This line up is top notch and we're expecting nothing but fucking mayhem from start to finish! I hope that you can make it, and if so the ticket links are below. 

This episode of Monthly Melodies was a bit of a challenge because the recording was corrupt on 3 different occasions. So I took the sign from the universe and changed the feel the 3rd time around, and I will say that I was very happy with the outcome. Slowed down a little bit and a bit more of a sexy / dark feel to the mix overall. A bit less bootlegs, and fast transitions and more slowed down and a journey. I hope that you like it as much as I did making it!

Ru is a seasoned vet in the club scene. Having spent over 19 years DJ'ing, his musical taste span from House, Indie, Techno & Trance and everything in-between. He has played clubs like M2, The electric Pickle, Steam, La Otra, and Mazuma just to name a few. He is a true lover of music, and more specifically dance music. He host a monthly radio show called "Monthly Melodies" where he plays what he feels the month deserves and names the mix so. He is also the Presidente of Vice City Collective, a Dj collective based in Miami, FL.
