Laroz is a DJ and producer who has been deep in the scene for three decades. He has credits on tasteful labels like Diynamic, Sol Selectas and his own Man House and Camel Riders and works across multiple genres, always with a unique personality. Here, he works with Bemet, who was chosen for Forbes's influential 30 Promising Youngsters of 2020 list, having been a precocious jazz talent since his youth. He has been GRAMMY nominated in the past after graduating from Berklee College of Music and now has a revered live show that has seen him play on the likes of Cercle Music and at ADE. He was last out on Chez Damier's H24 label with a superb minimal house album ‘Lobster’ in August 2022 and is back in style here.
The sublime 'Segu Tonjon' is a rich world of Afro drums and melodies. The percussion brings great colour to the rolling grooves, while the expressive vocals of Bassekou Kouyaté add spirituality. Soft focus melodies, jungle bird calls and organic hits all make this a warming, soul-drenched sound.

Sabo's record label Sol Selectas presents a three-way collaboration between Sabo, Namito and Shamoun who deliver a middle-eastern organic house single. The release also includes an upbeat Afro house rework by Silvano Del Gado.

An American artist living in Los Angeles, Sabo is a visionary and organic house pioneer who has travelled the world as a DJ, and played headline sets at festivals such as Burning Man and Coachella. He and Sol Selectas have helped define what is today known as organic house, and his contribution to this track showcases his skills as a music producer.

Namito needs little introduction to fans of Sol Selectas after the success of his tracks such as "Stone Flower" and "Legend." He is an Iranian artist living in Germany, and he is a dynamic melodic house producer whose style merges music from his heritage with modern electronic sounds. Alongside his numerous tracks on Sol Selectas, he has also worked with other respected outlets such as Embassy One, Bar 25, Do Not Sit and Selador.

Shamoun is a Middle Eastern musician who adds live instrumentation to this release that incorporates rhythms and melodies from his spice-infused culture.

On remix duty, Silvano Del Gado is an Italian artist from Florence who is a drummer and percussionist turned electronic music producer. Specialising in Afro Cuban drums, his remix adds tribal rhythms to the original in the style he has featured on other labels such as his own DEL GADO REC.

The original mix of "Spicy Sumac" is a moody track that has a throbbing bassline and stripped back percussion forming the foundation of its groove. Trippy atmospherics shroud the Middle Eastern keys and darbuka drum fills played by Shamoun.

Silvano Del Gado's remix of "Spicy Sumac" works in a new rolling bass and vibrant percussion that lifts the energy of this Afro house version.

Helia Jamali's cover is a desert dreamscape inviting listeners into a realm of Persian spice and spiritual flavour.

Spicy Sumac features funky Middle Eastern key work by Shamoun, and darbouka drum fills over a groovy tribal beat with pulsating bass, and dramatic energy filled breakdowns. 

Silvano del Gado injects his tribal wisdom into the song, creating a more Afro Carribbean inspired sound. Both versions have been tried and tested on dance floors around the World.

Today is my birthday, and I have one last gift to give you this year my crazy Playa friends.  Today my thoughts shift from: wishing I could teleport back to all the amazing moments we shared together just one month ago, to focusing on the productive 11 months ahead, until we meet again in  the dust.  I hope this mix will allow you to breathe a deep relaxing exhale, grounding yourself back to "reality", and inspire the same thoughts of excitement in you, until we meet again - in Black Rock City.
