Depuis quelques années maintenant, BitterCaress s’épanouit à travers son propre cheminement musical. Ayant acquis une solide formation en musique classique après avoir étudié le piano au conservatoire à Paris, c’est à son arrivée à Montréal en 2014 qu’elle est tombée amoureuse de la techno.

Raveuse professionnelle, organisatrice d’événements techno pendant un certain temps, elle a su développer et enrichir sa culture musicale avant de passer derrière les platines à la fin de l’année 2018.
Sa sélection pointue révèle un goût prononcé pour les basses lourdes et les rythmes sans concession. Puisant son inspiration dans une techno old school, mêlant des atmosphères ravy et trancy à des énergies
plus brutes et industrielles, son style est à la fois groovy et énergétique. Créative derrière ses platines, ouvertes à différents genres musicaux et aimant prendre des risques, elle n’hésitera pas à vous jouer ses
plaisirs coupables du moment.

Sa carrière ne faisant que commencer, elle est déjà bien établie sur la scène locale montréalaise avec plusieurs performances à son actif, notamment un passage au Stereo Nightclub ou au Piknic Électronik,
ainsi qu’une résidence au sein du collectif très en vogue, OCTOV.

Elle a également lancé la série de podcasts Mixing for a Cause où elle invite des artistes locaux et internationaux à enregistrer un mix dans le but de sensibiliser leur public à plusieurs causes qui leur tiennent
à cœur.

Dans le même esprit, depuis fin 2020, elle gère désormais son tout nouveau projet solo, MFC Records. Un label créé pour soutenir de nouveaux talents ainsi que des artistes déjà bien établi.e.s de tous horizons qui souhaitent soutenir une cause. Tous les profits des sorties du label seront reversés à des associations soigneusement sélectionnées. A travers cette série et ce label, elle espère toucher un maximum de personnes et bâtir un monde meilleur

Grounded podcast number 146 welcomes French artist Sina XX who currently resides in Paris.

As co-founder of Subtyl and a core member of Qui Embrouille Qui, he has gained nation-wide recognition with his fierce closing sets at some of France’s hottest raves and events such as Possession, Gloria and Concrete. 

Sina XX is a true defender of the original rave and club culture, based on humility, inclusion and generosity. A mantra that illustrates perfectly in his sets, finding inspiration in the wild and politically engaged 80s as much as in the raw energy of the 90s. 

Having been first identified by DJ AZF back in 2017, he has continued to release lots of amazing music through Subtyl's own label as well as the likes of RND. Records and more recently Tripalium Corp.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Bexa. The emerging Polist artist first appeared only last year but has taken the country by storm, DJing at some big events such as INSTYTUT Rave Arena and during ASID Global at Szyb Krystyna - an abandoned hoist tower of a former coal mine. Her style is influenced by apocalyptic cyber futures and she always transfers her high energy to the dance floor. We are thrilled to host this set which traverses her fast paced sound.

Many people have their quotes of the day, SAMANTA has a quote of her life – ELECTRONIC MUSIC. It is love, passion, some kind of religion, and strong DNA. 

SAMANTA got interested in electronic music when she was only 12 years old. In the beginning, it was just a hobby, but when she turned 17, she got a chance to play her first DJ gig at the school discotheque. That first step gave her more confidence and inspired her to search for her own individual musical path. She learned the technical skills and began to play at private parties, which helped her to define her musical taste. Soon she was already playing at the best nightclubs and festivals of her home country Lithuania.

The exciting music journey brought her to the BURN Residency DJ competition in 2014, where she finished in 4th place among the best Baltic DJs.  After a year of hard work on her skills, 2015 was marked as a year of much bigger changes. SAMANTA became the official winner of the BURN Residency 2015 competition and ruled over 7000 other contestants from 133 countries. She became a seasonal resident at rewarded club Space Ibiza, where she was playing for Carl Cox’s legendary Revolution parties. Life has changed in all the possible ways as together with new achievements and experiences, she had a weekly music show at Ibiza Sonica radio, where she was playing as one of the BURN Residency DJs. After winning the competition SAMANTA was still playing her monthly compilations on this radio, only this time as a winner. Despite her new status in the DJing career, each time she was preparing with the same passion, accuracy, love and devotion. DJing is not just some good tracks or intensive clicking of buttons, each moment you have to be starving for new sounds, personal growth and these special moments you share with all the people. It’s techno magic that never ends even while you sleep.

After winning the competition she was met with a special welcoming party in Lithuania, where she played with special guests M.A.N.D.Y and Olivier Giacomotto. During her trips to Ibiza, on a special boat party, Samanta had an opportunity to warm up a legendary Pete Tong. She had a chance to share the same decks many times with Dubfire during their tour around South America and Europe. Also shared decks with Adam Beyer, Shaded, Oliver Huntemann, Kenny Glasgow, Fabio Florido, Ben Pearce, Format B, Marika Rossa, Stephen Bodzin, Boris Brejcha, Daniel Bortz, Carlo Lio and John Digweed. After meeting John, she was invited to prepare her mix for his iconic radio show Transitions. She has played in Argentina, Columbia, Mexico, Austria, Sweden, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Italy, England, Germany, Poland and India, including Medusa Festival, Summerburst Baltic, Audioriver, and Sonar festivals.

Samanta released her debut EP, “Abandon” in 2017, landing via Philip Bader’s Out Of Mind Records. As described in djmag.com, it’s based around beefy kicks and twisted, growling vocal snippets that have warehouse walls shaking across the globe. The ‘’Abandon’’ track was played by one of the best DJs - Charlotte De Witte at the DJMag ADE event. 

On the Beatport Techno Chart, the 4-tracker “Bunda” EP peaked at 88th place. SAMANTA’s EP is on Metodi Hristov’s highly respected ‘’Set About’’ label and the track ‘’Hey Robot’’ also peaked at 79th place on Beatport. At the end of 2020 SAMANTA released a track ‘’Hello’’, on well-known Pan-Pot’s label “Second State”. The journal of electronic music “Vanity Dust” mentioned that the good thing about techno, or one of its virtues, is the ability to move completely in the abstract, with which you can make a great song saying only “Hello” with a robotic voice. While groups like U2 say “Hello, Hello”! SAMANTA orchestrated a rhythmic, captivating and highly danceable song only with “Hello”. 

No doubt that Samanta is ready to revolutionize the industry with her fresh beats because when you are sure of what you want to do for the rest of your life, you do your best!
