The guest in this episode is a Saint Louis based artist, Sari Postol. A sonic explorer with an appetite for fast-paced adventures through powerful, dark, intricate sounds.

Sari Postol is very quickly earning a reputation for delivering hard-hitting, no-nonsense DJ sets across a variety of genres. Techno (acid, industrial, dark), dark psy, hardcore, neurofunk, techstep, and hardcore jungle are just a few of the tools in the arsenal Sari deploys to devastating effect. Since her first set in 2016, Sari has become a familiar name on local lineups and in cities across the midwest due to her hard work and dedication to honing her skills on the decks, on both digital and vinyl platforms.

While maintaining an active tour schedule, Sari has featured on several prominent podcasts and radio shows, leading to the launch of her own show entitled, ‘The Casimir Eect’, for London-based Fnoob Techno Radio in August of2018.

In 2019, highlights for the year included debuting in Detroit for a Movement Festival after party, playing two sets (DNB & Techno) for the Chilluminati’s Sacred Earth Open-Air Event, Full-on/Dark Psy for the Chilluminati’s Geologic Open-Air Event, playing a special Domeland set in addition to opening the main stage for Drop Bass Network’s Even Furthur 2019.

2020 brought a lot of changes. Kicking the year off in Nashville, TN, playing direct support for Delta9 in her hometown, and then closing out the round of“normal” pre-pandemic shows alongside Stanton Warriors, Keith Mackenzie, Shadow People & more in Milwaukee, created a false sense of normalcy before the full shut down. Since March of2020, Postol has focused her energies on continuing her Fnoob residency and had opportunities to perform on several live stream events including a special hybrid techno/electro set for Charivari Virtual Online Festival in August 2020, and Intellephunk’s Distant Future 005 where she played a hybrid hardcore & dnb set warming up for Doormouse, and several of her other underground heroes.

Enter 2021, and Sari was hired on to be the Monday manager for fnoob techno radio (London), while diving heavy into production. In July 2021, Sari looks forward to debuting her new signature sound at The Great Beyond in Minnesota, USA, thrown by Intellephunk and Enemy Records, as well as making her Colorado Debut in September.

In her own words, “My goal (whether through DJ sets, creating, and eventually live sets) is to create a vibe that enhances the whole being: mind, body, and soul, whether it's through meditative ambient soundscapes or powerful grooves that make you dance until you sweat.”

This is my submission to the Re/Form Spring 2024 DJ Competition. I have been wanting to head out to LA to experience the parties out there for some time. When I saw the first round of this lineup announced, I immediately set out to make arrangments to go. While I have not yet been to LA for an event, the city has garnered a reputation of having one of the strongest and most forward thinking underground electronic music scenes in the US. Whether they are exhibiting artists with legendary status spanning several decades, US debuts of emerging international artists, or offering a shot at the decks to a promising local or regional DJ, the responses to their parties appear to be never short of highly revered. As such, it would be overwhelming honor and privilege to be included among the ranks of the artists booked by Dirty Epic, 6AM, and Synthetik Minds. 

Some of the artists on this lineup have been incredibly influential to me and their tracks make their way into my DJ sets on a regular basis, so this one is particularly special to me. I will be there either way, but I hope you'll support me by listening and sharing thoughts to this mix which was inspired by this party.

As a submission for a chance at an opening slot, I wanted this mix to showcase some of the deeper and more hypnotic areas of modern, futuristic techno. While it certainly listens with a considerable amount of cerebral depth, I was sure to still infuse a healthy dose of driving energy and groovy rhythm and my typical incorporation of the occasional broken beat.

Axis Alpha is a Czech DJ based in Prague. His creative work revolves around underground techno music featuring hypnotic elements and trippy grooves, complemented by deep and atmospheric textures.
 His distinctive sound has solidified his presence in Prague's techno scene, where he has performed at renowned clubs such as Ankali, Fuchs2 and Bike Jesus. Additionally, his unique style has garnered international recognition, leading to bookings at clubs in Berlin or Milan. 

Since 2022, he has been a member of Weltraum, a Prague-based collective of friends who share a passion for deep, high-intensity techno music and have been organizing events ever since.

After a break to focus on family, he returned to Lille's nightlife in 2022, exploring genres from Disco to Techno under his Astropony alias. In late 2023, he unveiled Cancel23, a darker alter ego dedicated solely to Techno.
Cancel23 emerged as the raw, hypnotic persona of Astropony, captivating audiences with industrial-infused beats and ominous melodies, exploring underground Techno music.
