Like Hip Hop, Techno Rave was what it was called in the very beginning of the American scene.  Hip would be the knowledge. Hop would be the Dance.  Techno was the Music, Rave was the Movement.  1990 The Peace Love Unity Movement.  In those first three years Rave expanded cross country and by 1993 every city in America had events.  Techno Rave had been dropped as Rave Music became commercialized & the Movement now worldwide.

Techno went back to it's underground roots from Detroit and Movement now established became about Respect.  Respect the Movement.  This was 1993.

Moving forward 30 years, Detroit Techno Militia are the gatekeepers of truth in Techno city.  They came to Brooklyn to spread the Detroit Love in a time and place where New York City is more like Gotham then the NYC we knew.  

But when Brooklyn is in the House, Brooklyn is in the House.  A small dedicated crowd of ravers & clubbers alike kept this party going unitl about 9 a.m.  

I played 1:20-2:40 a.m.  80 minutes.  When dipped in reality, we really represent the real in this culture.  Signiture styles which come from the beginnings of both Techno & Rave and can be copied but not duplicated.

Misstress Barbara @ Piknic Electronik Montreal - August 31st 2025

Inspired in the early 90s by a combination of Brooklyn raves, hardcore labels like Industrial Strength and Drop Bass Network, and a random trip down the east coast, Chris found his dj moniker while pondering the NO HAZMAT signs peppering I-95 exits throughout New Jersey. Flash forward a few decades and you can still occasionally find him cutting a rug to hardcore beats, but he's willing to let the whippersnappers play it while exploring the mind melting textures of classic and modern techno, various forms of breaks and of course acid in all its guises. It's not mandatory to wear a black T-shirt while listening to his mixes, but it should be.

STL-native, Sari Postol is earning a reputation for delivering hard-hitting, no-nonsense DJ sets spanning a variety of genres. Acid and Industrial Techno, Electro, and Hardcore are just a few of the tools in the arsenal Sari deploys to devastating effect.

Since her first set in 2016, Sari has become a familiar name on local lineups and in cities across the midwest due to her hard work and dedication to honing her skills on the decks, on both digital and vinyl platforms.While maintaining an active tour schedule,
Sari has featured on several prominent podcasts and radio shows, leading to the launch of her own show entitled, ‘The Casimir Effect’, for London-based Fnoob Techno Radio in August 2018 and was brought on as programme manager for Fnoob in January of 2021. 

2022 brings the introduction of Amen Alice - Postol’s Drum and Bass alter-ego, her sound: acid-infused rollers & hard hitting amen-breaks x venetian snares.
