This is the musical journey born from an adventure to one of the more untouched parts of Bali in a 100% traditionally built bamboo house, nestled amid the jungle and rice fields under Mt. Agung, a wildly active volcano. Experience the breathtaking landscapes at crack of dawn, as the sunrises in the valley accompanied by a live set of deep melodic and uplifting tunes.

Warming up for Andhim at Woo Bar was epic. It’s always more of a challenge when on warm up duty, with the added pressure of opening an “empty” club. People are walking in and out... some are checking for the headliner, others deciding where the night will take them.

This can definitley be a bit nerve racking and it takes some discipline to stick to your vibe... slowly building the energy when the time’s right to pave the way for the headliner’s set, versus just banging it out when the venue begins to fill. 

I find it much easier to play a peak time set, so its a good challenge and an epic feeling when you get the early crowd locked in and really vibing the music. This is the art of warming up and something that really excites me with DJing.

Mental health has been a big struggle for many people this year, including myself. Leaving my home and having my job and industry so disrupted hasn’t been easy. I'm grateful music has been such a huge positive feature and source of happiness in my life when the going gets tough. I have used my time to push myself on the production front more than ever and have much exciting music to share with you soon!

It's great to see things slowly coming back to normal and life looking more vibrant for the tail end of 2020. Now I’m just frothing for some dance floor action.

I think it's important for us to spread awareness on mental health and also share what's helped me... and that's music. I will be donating a percentage of every play of this mix to Beyond Blue.

Over two hours of deep, minimal, deep tech & melodic house that got me in a feel good mood!  And if anyone is struggling I’m always here to talk.

DJ Scotty Cal Bio

Sydney-born DJ Scotty Cal is a self-confessed lover of all things house & techno and has spent the last few years cultivating his own unique sound at various venues and parties around Australia, before making the move to Bali to further expand his career on the international platform.

It began with his early days on the decks at Shore Club in Manly and since Scotty Cal has fast become a sought-after DJ, playing at the world’s biggest electronic music festivals such as Ultra (Resistance) as well as boutique events along the likes of Knee Deep in Sydney & Circo Loco (Aus). He currently resides in Bali where he is a regular on the music scene, playing gigs at Single Fin, Jenja, Mrs. Sippy, Red Ruby, Da Maria, Ulu Cliffhouse and DC 10 inspired aeroplane bunker Gate 88. 

When Scotty Cal takes to the decks, the dancefloor quickly fills and doesn’t stop, fuelled by his crowd-pleasing formula of ever-present basslines mixed with everything from deep, rolling house sounds to addictive melodic house grooves. Having already joined the ranks of Ultra’s Resistance DJs and supported numerous world class acts like YOUSEF, Hot Since 82, Patrick Topping, Marc Romboy, Loco Dice, Doorly, Franky Rizardo, Claptone, , Popof, Late Night Tuff Guy, Emanuel Satie, Christoph, Butch, Ben UFO, Seth Trawler, Scotty Cal has established himself as a hot talent in the house & Techno music world.

Scotty Cal has recently seen his debut original solo production ‘Mothership’ reach #17 on the ARIA club charts, signed his collaborative deep house track ‘Kumculo’ with Kaiser Waldon to Oscar P’s label Heavy, and has his much awaited EP in the making. 

Working as a co-partner at Escape Presents alongside renowned DJ and producer Kaiser Waldon, the duo has successfully taken their brand, originally based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, and established an “Escape to Bali” concept on the island, throwing the most south after house and techno parties every month at various locations from Uluwatu to Seminyak and currently hold a successful partnership with beachfront venue La Brisa.
