We’re so excited to welcome Phoebe as guest #19 in our Sounds of SMUT series!

Phoebe, aka Bruno Trigo Gonçalves, has delivered some of the most desirable sonic infusions around today. A necessary agitator in the city of Lisbon’s underground, he is the founder of Troublemaker Records, collaborator with collectives Rádio Quântica and Planeta Manas, and a resident DJ at ‘mina’ and co-founder/resident DJ of ‘Curvs’. Phoebe is also a vital force in the field of live performance and production; with releases on Rotten Fresh and Sweet Love Making, a label he co-owns with Bleid, Phoebe’s razor sharp aural precision and aesthetic alludes to various different languages of Dance music, Ambient music, and other personal cosmologies, ones that define him as a sonically free producer and voice for the ever-ephemeral present. 

This mix sees Phoebe provide a near 60-minute descent into ‘Slow House anthems’, which is something he says he rarely has the opportunity to play. Luscious pads, shuffle-y drums and erotic vocals echo throughout, providing you all with a sense of sultry, smutty, sonic pleasure.

Jesse DM is a Naarm-based DJ who is known for the unmistakable energy he brings to the dance floor. He co-runs CONFIDE, a queer-centric club night, alongside friend and collaborator Simonetti. With a deep appreciation of 90s house music, Jesse has zeroed in on a progressive, vibrant and playful sound, with always more than a little dash of camp.

This mix was recorded in the midst of this past summer, encapsulating the feeling of a balmy Sunday sunset as we head into the colder months.

He describes his sound as electronically-driven, yet spacious enough to allow some breathing room. Recently, A deeper dive into the vinylverse has given him a more distinctive perspective on his own tastes and has enabled him to channel his own spirit more clearly in his sets. 

Our next guest takes control of our tenth Hot Series in a fitting manner, blasting through two hours of energy inducing choons serving as a portal to the weekend, even though it was recorded on a Sunday morning.
