In Hour 2 we welcome back DJ Format alongside Phill Most Chill to celebrate the release of their album 'The Foremost'. DJ Format gives a run down of thier mix;

"Instead of doing yet another promo mix that incorporates a song or two from our new album, I thought it would be fun for me & Phill to each do a 30 minute mix of Hip Hop from our respective areas. I'm from Southampton, and since that's not a very big place I thought it would be more fitting to play some of my favourite old UK Hip Hop records. Philadelphia always had a healthy Hip Hop scene that boasted famous artists such as DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, Cash Money & Marvelous and Steady B just to name a few. Phill wanted to showcase some of the more obscure/random Rap records from Philly that he loves."

"Some time in 1985, I stumbled across a station playing 'The Roof Is On Fire' by Rock Master Scott & The Dynamic Three, cursing and all. Thus began my initiation into the world of college radio. The first DJ at KDVS to have a rap show was named Oras Washington, and he became an important mentor. I made this brief mix and rode my bike down to the station to hand-deliver the tape. It's pretty rough, but it's a good snapshot of what I was into: East Coast and West Coast rap (not to mention a bit of London) and some James Brown thrown in for good measure."- DJ Shadow

"We were on one of our many tours of the UK and Europe during this time frame, and stopped by Zane Lowe's show. All of us were crammed into a tiny session room, and went live right to air...no mistakes allowed. This was probably my favorite era in which to DJ, everyone was still using vinyl exclusively and just having fun, scratching like mad. It was me and Chief XCel on the turntables, and Gift Of Gab, Lyrics Born, and Lateef The Truthspeaker on the mic." - DJ Shadow

"In 2009, I was asked to play the video game convention E3 in support of the release of Activision's DJ Hero. There were only two rules: include some of the mash-ups I made for the game, and no cursing please. I obliged (mostly), and there's some fun moments....recorded several months before the 2009 Halloween set, this is less about the dance floor than an attempt to reference the broader contributions of the DJ and DJ-based music. "If you're having a difficult time identifying any of these tracks, there's a reason for that...they're all derived from vintage demo cassettes, most of which were unheard by the general public until this mix.  It's something I had been planning for some time, and it all feeds back into the 'crate digger' aesthetic I've always valued so much as a DJ.  When the mix originally aired, I had to edit some of the language, so here it is for the first time in full uncensored glory."
