The age of sonic medicine continues to unfold in the shape of Poranguí and Liquid Bloom’s landmark curative music collection, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura.’ Created as an aural container for the cutting-edge frontiers of psychedelic-assisted therapy, this extrasensory journey invites listeners to cross the threshold into the realm of shadow and light, uniting the principles of indigenous wisdom, plant medicine, and holistic psychology with the world-bridging potential of cinematic sound design.

Designed for Kuya, a state-of-the-art health clinic in Austin, TX that is incorporating paradigm-shifting therapeutics, integrative psychiatry, and regenerative medicine into a visionary approach to trauma processing and healing, ‘Cura’ offers seekers a soundtrack for their journeys toward rebalancing, and is now lovingly shared with listeners everywhere on behalf of Kuya and producers Amani Friend and Poranguí.

Embedded with the sonic signature of the world’s oldest musical lineages and enhanced with field recordings and samples from across the globe, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura’ is best experienced in its “Journey Mix” format, where the boundaries between movements are as ephemeral as the voyage itself. In preparation for embarking on this ritualistic path, one is invited to create an environment for inner-exploration with the help of a quiet and dark room, headphones, an eye mask, and an intention of healing and discovery. 

The first installment in this four-part release series, ‘Cura’ draws upon a grounding array of instruments, vocalizations, and therapeutic musical stylings while showcasing Poranguí and Amani Friend’s tenacity for surreal, multi-dimensional sound. Sacred Fire Medicine Mix

Hello friends! Excited to share with you this offering, that I shared with 30 wonderful women on the rural bush-lands of regional far north-eastern Australia last weekend. Together we danced barefoot on the soil, next to the river, around the fire, with the open sky abound…. In prayer and ritual, in ceremony & celebration of the dawning New Earth: The Feminine Rising.

  Aurora Celeste @tribalvisionamazon & I were inspired by the culminate calling of the last few months collective-energy… and together we came to offer ritual to the ancestors, drank cacao (of course) and to emerge as the butterfly’s we are and spread our wings, dancing not just for ourselves and the Earth but all of humanity.  Our event intentioned ‘Earth Rebirth: An Women’s Outdoor Gathering’

  The feminine-medicine mix is dedicated to those sisters who can’t dance, those who cannot sit still enough to listen or who may be forced upon without freedom to simply enjoy Sound. Our prayer is to unite, to share the wisdom of the Earth through these sounds, so that the United Feminine of Voice Of the Body/The Heart through All: Shall Rise Again. 

  This is my greatest intentional music mix to date, and although still the forever learner to the technology to do so… my greatest inspiration and Love is that of Listening: these are some of the sounds that has lifted my heart in these times and given a voice to the great story I believe emerging true: She = We.  

A mix dedicated to Mother Earth, and all it’s creatures, worlds, and lives - of those, past, present & future.

This mix is shared in promise to those women who wanted tunes and to those friends, many sisters around the world whom I hope we can reunite to dance again together, in person. Shalman is a multidimensional artist who has been influenced by an incredible spectrum of life and travel experiences, journeys both in the form and formless. Brought up with Indonesian and Syrian roots in forward thinking Northern California, he has traveled all over the world to experience the medicine of music and dance - from the beaches of Bali, to the jungles of Peru, to the deserts of Morocco, to the warehouses of Berlin, and all over in between.

His personal dancefloor downloads have inspired him to curate deep musical journeys that elevate and activate the senses and body, allowing permission for dancers to journey to their truths within. He blends a wide assortment of music… particularly medicine music with tribal bass, afro house, and all sorts of booty shaking beats in between. Expect an oriental, South American, flute-heavy, percussion-heavy, vocal heavy journey. His signature sound is uplifting, spiritual, mystical, tribal, and deep. With every DJ set, which is a ceremony in itself, he invites you to dance to the soundtrack of your own medicine — your own life.
