Shanto's deep-ethno-progressive musical style stems from his cultural background & past musical influences. A Lebanese Armenian born in London in the midst of a disco dance revolution, he was raised in Lebanon until his family escaped the war & permanently moved to LA, automatically immersing himself into the 80's electronic dance evolution. His love for bands like Depeche Mode, Berlin, & Yaz shaped his love for the electronic beat. Which later led to his love for the LA underground scene in the 90's, that finally cemented his search for the perfect beat. Like many, what began as a passion project quickly became an ever-consuming part of his life. After 15 years as a student of the underground with countless residencies & events, Shanto released his premiere EP "Malyans" (Beesound Recordings, Sep 2019) that charted as high as #13 on Beatport's Top 100 New Releases in both the progressive house & melodic techno charts. He is a resident for Trent Cantrelle’s infamous Sounds Like parties, & plays throughout LA, the US & internationally. Look out for many hip-shaking, mind bending, & soul grabbing originals & remixes to follow in the coming years.

Lemme Take It Off (After Midnight Mix)

Welcome to my rework of a beautiful classic ambient track that has a lot of meaning to me. A track that has taken me exactly 5 years to finally complete. One that I started on the night the horrific Woolsey Fires began, & forced us to evacuate from our homes for almost a week.
A project that I foresaw years before it started, & a personal  challenge I had made to myself on re-working such a beautiful masterpiece.

5 years ago this week, we were evacuated from our homes while the Woolsey Fires ran it's rampage through our neighborhood. That night I started a musical project of a beautiful ambient track I would often hear playing at literally any of the massage spas I would frequent to help alleviate the discomfort of 3 crushed cushions between my discs in my neck. This particular track stuck with me for several years, yearning to hear it outside a spa just so I could just Shazam it. 
I was just dying to get it's ID! 
Then finally on the night before the fires forced us out, my wife & I were at a local favorite eatery & the track started playing on their system & I jumped in ecstasy as this was finally my opportunity to ID it! Of course I had to tell everyone around me how long I had been trying to track it down😅
The next night as I started my rework project, the authorities told us to evacuate. So on this 5th anniversary of that tumultuous time in our lives, I have finally completed my rework. I learned an immense amount about music production & reworks from it. It's a project I have been dying to bring to fruition. So here we are, 5 years later, & the time is now to release it on my SoundCloud.

For everything our world is going through, all the strife within humanity, it is important to pause & reflect our purpose here on Earth & allow music to bring us together. As we are a creation of frequency & energy. Because life itself has always been "Beyond This Moment."

I take no credit for the amazing original creation by Patrick O'Hearn, as his original "Beyond This Moment" was the inspiration for this rework. I do not seek any monetary benefit from this project, for I have attempted to contact Patrick on several occasions via email & other social media channels, to no avail. This is strictly a passion project, because I love music & want to share it with the world.
