      Born in Long Island, New York and raised in Marietta, Georgia, DJ Shay D's versatile background gives him an edge over the typical DJ. From purchasing his first cassette, to spinning for crowds of thousands, the root of his energetic DJ spirit thrives from his love of music. Known for his immense crate library of hip-hop, top 40, house, reggae and dance, Shay D began building his vast musical collection even before owning his own pair of turntables. After years of expanding his musical library, Shay D began to develop his smooth mixing techniques while simultaneously entering the mobile DJ world. Shay D spent countless hours practicing his technique in his bedroom, for friends and at local parties. Overtime, Shay D's hard work, dedication, and perseverance to his craft subsequently led to to future bookings. 
    
  He began doing weddings, bars, skating rinks, and local events to increase his exposure. Although teen parties seemed to be the biggest deal at the time, with experience Shay D began to expand into bigger markets.  At the age of 19 DJ Shay D got his first sizable gig at a local night club, Club Fuel (Ybor City). Soon after nightclub promoters took interest in his unique sound and he was later granted a residency at Club Prana, the only five level premier nightclub in Ybor City, Florida. Shay D has spent the last three years spinning for crowds of 2000+ people on any given night at Club Prana. While spinning at Club Prana he built a legacy based on his blends, club presence, scratching technique and vibrant microphone skills. During this time period he was also featured in the cities newspapers (Tampa Bay Times and St. Petersburg Times). The local radio station, WBTP 95.7 The Beat (Clear-Channel Radio), later acquired DJ Shay D as a holiday mix show DJ. For over a one year period,Shay-d was able to successfully produce mixshow DJ sets that were widely broadcast on Clearchannel radio. Throughout his career Shay D accredits influence to veteran DJ's such as DJ Prostyle, DJ Funkmaster Flex, DJ Jelly and DJ Cocoa Chanelle. 
      
 Constantly one can find Shay D updating his crates as well as listening to a few of his favorite radio stations to stay up to date on music; Power 105.1 (New York), Hot 97(New York),  Hot 107.9 (Atlanta), V-103(Atlanta). He feels that “every DJ has the same records, unless they are remixed, therefore, listening to your music, learning your crates, and developing your own twist on the tracks is the key to being a successful DJ”. Throughout his career he has had the ability to meet and work with numerous celebrities and DJ's such as: KRS-1, T.I., Roscoe Dash, Maino, and DJ Drama just to name a few. Currently he marks some of his greatest accomplishments as being privileged enough to open a party for LL Cool, Chamillionare and DJ at a major league baseball game for the Tampa Bay Rays. Shay D's crowd control experience has led him to be a leader amongst nightclub and mobile DJ's. 
      
His quick cuts, smooth transitions, crazy mash-ups and intriguing remixes can be appreciated by all ages. He is now marked as one of Tampa's most successful Disc Jockeys. His future plans include going on a world tour, beginning music beat production and becoming a resident DJ in another country besides the United States. His strong knowledge base of different musical genres, years of experience, ability to accommodate to any crowd and variance of scratching  techniques sets him apart from your average DJ.
