About Chris Cargo:

Chris Cargo is an Irish DJ, producer, and label boss with over three decades of experience shaping the sound of underground progressive house. Since the 1990s, he’s carved out a path defined by depth, emotion, and technical precision. His music is both timeless and current, blending deep, melodic, and progressive house in a way that resonates across generations.

He’s performed in more than 60 countries, captivating crowds from the USA to South America, from Europe to Asia. Whether in clubs or on festival stages, Chris has built a reputation for sets that are immersive, dynamic, and masterfully curated. Audiences in Mexico, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Germany, France, Sweden, and beyond have experienced the energy and craft that defines his presence behind the decks.

As a producer, Chris has released on some of the most respected imprints in progressive and melodic house. His catalogue includes music on The Soundgarden, UV, Sprout, Mango Alley, onedotsixtwo, Particles, Movement Recordings, LAIKA Sounds, Forensic Records, Roku, Wizarding Wolf, Suza Records, and RKP- to name just a few. His work has appeared in iconic compilation series from Renaissance, Global Underground, and Carl Cox’s Intec, while also gaining support from BBC Radio 1, MixMag, and DJ Mag.

Chris has hit the Beatport charts consistently, including two HYPE number one spots. His remixes of classics like Stella by Jam & Spoon and Western Approaches by Pako & Frederik highlight his ability to bring a fresh perspective to well-loved tracks without losing their essence.

He also runs If You Wait, his own imprint and creative outlet. The label has become a trusted home for his original music and a space to champion rising artists. In 2022, he released the 11-track album Resistance on the label, a project that received critical acclaim and further established his voice as a producer who understands the emotional and structural depth of dance music.

Recognised as one of the “original genre innovators” by Progressive Astronaut and labelled a “Progressive House Pioneer” by Change Underground, Chris Cargo continues to be a guiding light in the global progressive scene: evolving, inspiring, and always delivering.

This week's Ultiset is a wild ride and journey.  It also was inspired by David Hammond's music (AKA Solis (US)).  Sometimes when someone shares their music with you - it must be shared and a mix theme emerges from it.  This is that set.  Solis' music is getting a lot of attention by the big guns in progressive and it is not surprising.  Stellar production, emotional yet big room tough...he is one to watch!  This set also features amazing promo music by labels and producers I truly admire and enjoy supporting.  Also, I have been pondering what my sets mean to me lately and this is what resonates - They are editorial as much as they are a journey - there is so much amazing new music hitting the scene and this is that music I feel is going to make a significant impression on the progressive and house music scene.  I love making these long sets every week and sharing it with those who love the music as much as I do.  I have also included some new music I have been working on. Shell Robinson stands at the intersection of classical training and electronic music innovation. A classically trained pianist turned house music artist, she brings a unique musicality to her productions and DJ sets that seamlessly blends technical precision with raw emotional depth.
Her journey in electronic music began in 2000 at Cleveland's "That Groovy Little Nightclub." Following a personal tragedy, house music became a powerful outlet for healing and connection. Influenced by industry pioneers like Deep Dish, Digweed, Sasha, and Hernan Cattaneo, Shell developed her signature style through dedicated craftsmanship, starting with two Technics turntables and pure determination.
The early 2000s saw Shell establish herself as a resident DJ at Moda Cleveland and Amnesia Columbus, while touring nationally alongside D:FUSE, including notable performances at San Francisco's iconic 1015 Folsom and Austin's vibrant 6th Street district. Her sets are carefully curated journeys through house music's emotional landscape, known for their progressive buildups and engaging energy that resonates with audiences.
After taking time to raise her daughter while maintaining an executive career in PropTech, Shell has returned to the decks with renewed passion and fresh perspective. Her recent releases on inU and UV Noir showcase her evolution as an artist, combining her classical foundation with contemporary electronic production techniques.
Shell's sets blend technical skill with musical intuition, creating memorable experiences on the dancefloor. Her unique background as a vocalist and pianist adds layers of musicality to her productions, setting her apart in today's electronic music landscape.
