The debut mix from Smutlee delves into the archives with a 30 mins strictly vinyl mix focusing on the Streetsoul sound of early 90's UK and joining the dots with NY R&B and mid 90's Trip Hop.

The new Mix series 'Street/Soul Sessions' explores exactly that, rugged soul music from the streets.
This is the second mix in the series from Smutlee, this time with a 30 mins strictly vinyl mix of Raw, Deep Soulful House from the likes of Nick Holder, DJ Spinna, Pal Joey and more.

Fourth mix in the series, a smooth mix of early 80's UK lovers rock alongside some reggae classics. As always in this series, 30 mins of vinyl from the Smutlee archives.

Mix Number Five in the Soul/Street Sessions is a 30 min - one take vinyl mix, of Sampled Soul, G-Funk and Modern Boogie

The sixth mix in the series is a 40 min heater, running through classic, rare and forgotten bangers, blending UK Funky, Broken Beat and Afro House smoothly together. Strictly Vinyl mix from the Smutlee Vaults.

Mix number seven in the series goes digital with a 40 minute, one take serato mix - bringing fresh Brokenbeat, Breakbeats, and Deep House.

Soul/Street Sessions 007 - Broken Beat / Deep House

Mix number eight goes back to vinyl with a blend of Hip Hop & Soul, digging into remixes, rareities, classics & deep cuts, with a leaning into detroit producers like Dilla, Waajeed & Omar S.

Soul/Street Sessions 008 - Hip Hop / Soul

Mix number Nine focuses on records i’ve collected over the years that have that old school breakbeat house and hip hop sound, from London to New York. Chopped up breaks and cut up samples. 40 Mins of Classics and Deep cuts.

Soul/Street Sessions 009 - Breakbeat

Mix number ten, back on the MP3s with a 35min mix of Brokenbeats and Heavy Basslines, Brand new tunes, exclusive edits and deep cuts.

Soul/Street Sessions 010 - Bruk Beats

Back on a strictly vinyl selection for the eleventh mix in the series. For this one I've dug back into my Hip Hop archive and pulled out my DJ Spinna records. I was always a big fan of his productions and would buy any record he was involved in on sight, and over 20 years later I’m still playing his latest House records.
Sticking to the format, this mix is a selection of 15 of my personal favourite productions, and goes for just over 30 mins, although I could easily to do a part 2, Stay locked for that. Nice one.

Following up from my DJ Spinna mix is another 90's Hip Hop selection. Pulling out 15 underground rap records from labels such as Fondle 'Em & Rawkus for a 35 min laidback dusty sample based Hip Hop excursion for mix number Twelve.
