There were train wrecks but it was fun and a massive adrenaline rush when I landed a mix right. (This is not the live set, but the test mix with the same rekkids, recorded at home.)

❤️‍🔥 Sunday night in Seattle means one thing: Flammable. For 30 years, Flamm has been our friends&fam tradition of house music to close out the weekend. Weekly dance church, served hot.

This was initially a fall mix--about the psychedelic beauty of decay--but it slowly became a solstice/new years coming-of-the-light endeavor. So I imagine decay prefacing greater order, and a coming back into light. For all of us. (Yes, that's a little north hemisphere-centric. You'll get yours soon enough!)

The set starts with a special tribute to Larry Harvey (RIP) at the beginning,  from his documentary "Burning Man" (1991), talking about the origin of the event in 1985, from which I learned that the event literally started on my birthday (I won't say which one).

A mix from November 2016, which needed a little fixing. I remember walking around stoned in West End Vancouver, listening to this in the misty rains.

This was the precursor to the Psychedelic Love Affair series, with all of those trippy musical ideas bubbling up, but I didn't have the concept or words yet. So, I'm thinking of it as Psychedelic Love Affair 0.5. I added a couple fixes to the mix to areas that have always bothered me, retouching an otherwise exceptional journey. The results are pretty euphoric.

I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I have. It's a secret favorite, and I'm delighted to share it, burnished to greater glory.

It's also a celebration of the Queer+Trans Black&Brown folks who led the Stonewall Rebellion in 1969 in NYC, who started the LGBTQ liberation movement. There is no liberation movement for LGBTQ people without our Black&Brown leaders and elders.
