This short but sweet "Pop-Up Mix" was totally inspired by an amazing beach party that I was involved with right here on Miami Beach a few years ago. The cool thing about music is that it can literally transport your thoughts to another time and space. For a second just imagine you and your friends are all gathered together dancing like crazy on your favorite island and or beach under the stars. Yes, music can "Take you there! This short DJ set is simply a heartfelt musical celebration, celebrating the life and times of the now late great Mr. Roy Ayers! I've stated a few times that his iconic song "Running Away" was so influential to me and my young DJ and music loving friends growing up in Detroit in the early 1980's. I still "hear" it blasting from one of my DJ mentors basements way back in the day. From Roy's cool jazzy vibes in the 1970's, to his music being heavily sampled  in Hip-Hop all through the 90's Mr. Ayers' musical fingerprint was literally everywhere. But it's the collaborations that he did with some of the House Music community that was the most fascinating to me. Here he was a "giant" in the music world still partnering with our beloved Dance Music tastemakers. I always thought that was just so cool, but then again Roy Ayers was the epitome of "Cool." May your musical legacy live forever Sir... ∞

This past weekend was an amazing musical ride held right here in Miami. The worlds top DJ's were literally playing any and everywhere for "Miami Music Week." Although I didn't play I was able to get out to a few events and check out some of the guys that I look to for music inspiration. It was also so cool meeting and talking to people that knew me and follow me right here my YouTube channel and or my Soundcloud channel. It was so fun very humbling hearing in person how much the music really blesses them. I'm already looking ahead to next years "MMW." Inner bloom x I remember

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
