This mix is a live recording from a listening session performed at Dilalica gallery as the activation of Huaqian Zhang latest exhibition ‘Overheating’. 
DjSport and Huaqian weave together a healing journey where love, friction, heat, pain, and tenderness intertwine in a seamless flow of storytelling and sounds.

Born and raised on the island of Mauritius, @djsportt is now based in Barcelona. With a love for polyrhythmic, bouncy, mind-bending sounds, she brings up disorienting rhythms playing between tension and release, keeping listeners engaged in ever-shifting sonic landscapes.
She crafts a distinctive sound within the deeper, bass-driven and psychedelic realms of club music. Her DJ sets are driven by an adventurous, storytelling approach, focussing on channelling into the depths of textures and intricate rhythms.
 
For this mix, she explores a slightly different selection than usual, focussing on deep and dubby techno evolving into breaks and bass, maintaining a kind of warm-up energy all the way.

Born and raised on the island of Mauritius and now based in Barcelona, DjSport is known for her captivating approach to sound. She carefully plays with tension, release, and the uncanny.

Embodiment 072 - DjSport

Dj Sport

Every year, Alfonso, the artistic director of Mostra, hides a few cards up his sleeve, and this time one of them was DjSport. Closing the Friday program at Fabra i Coats is never random, it’s a statement, and by the time her halftime pulse began rolling through the space, we all knew why she was there. The groove was elastic, full of tension that never broke until she decided it should. Then came the shift: precision turning into pressure, tempo climbing until Fabra felt like a steam room. Just when it seemed ready to tip into chaos, she had her “hold my beer” moment, controlled detonation, a sudden swerve into broken, bass-heavy terrain that felt like opening a window mid-storm. From there on, it was cruise control, the kind that hums with energy yet never loses composure.

Mauritius-born and now based in Barcelona, DjSport carries that balance of warmth and unpredictability wherever she plays. Her debut at Mostra was the kind that makes you trust Alfonso’s instincts even more, those mysterious names on the poster that end up defining the memory.
