What the fuck is this tune? I am all about this!

Here is the first ever tape i recorded for Tangled Breaks back in 1998. A heavy mix of big beat, breakbeats and old skool flavas which was the foundation of what was to become the longest running breaks night in the world. No tracklist available as i can only remember a few of them unfortunately as there are some crackers on there :)
Apologies for the poor sound but it was ripped from a tape.

Tangled Breaks - The first tape 1998

Steve Thorpe started mixing tunes at home when he was 18 and first started DJingin Manchesters bars and clubs in 1996. Playing an eclectic mix of broken beats. In 1997, Steve joined Manchester clubnight - Tangled and turned the upstairs chillout room of a house and trance night into the longest running breakbeat night in the UK...if not the world - Tangled Breaks. Running weekly, then twice monthly and then quarterly for over 15 years and then returning 3 times a year until it ended on Tangleds 21st Birthday in 2014. Steve has warmed up and played alongside all the best breaks DJs and producers in the UK. After Tangled stopped regular events in 2008 he started his own night - Carry On which after 14 months then changed into Lowdown and Dirty... which now after 6 was voted the best breaks clubnight in Manchester and the world as it has won the 'best small event' at the Breakspoll International awards for 3 years running and Lowdown won the coveted City Life 'best clubnight in Manchester' award for 2014. Lowdown has now come to an end but Steve has been DJing at various events and festivals around the UK and helping out with other clubnights, continuing producing mixes and live streams. Steve will also be bringing Tangled back one the UK is back to normal after Covid for a special one-off party!
