The first ever Hi-Lux production - Written/recorded in 94, released in 95.

After a frenzied industry reaction from many dance labels responding to the cassette tapes of Feel it sent out to A&R departments, it was only Cheeky Records & Hooj Tunes that I wanted to sign it to to be honest. Cheeky straight away got in contact and wanted to sign it, and the rest is history. Having talked to Hooj Tunes label boss Red Jerry about the track years later, he mentioned that he'd just never received the cassette and was gutted to have missed out on the chance of signing it.

Interesting fact.... Rollo (Cheeky Label owner) came to the Studio to hear the final mix in place and meet up for the first and only time as a courtesy as he was signing Hi-Lux to his label, he very kindly (but bizarrely) brought round a carrier bag full of cans of fizzy drinks with him !! ... But a thoroughly good natured and decent bloke .... Feel it was the first ever record that he signed to Cheeky that wasn't one of his own productions which was a great honour.... he even did a remix of Feel It himself which was available on a separate 12"

Zelda-inspired Cinematic fusion of Electro-Jazz & Dubstep

“Thief in Disguise” is a heat-hazed blend of desert mystique and bass-driven heroism, a dubstep epic set beneath the unforgiving sun of Gerudo Valley. The track follows a lone wanderer—Link recast not as a flawless champion, but as a reluctant outlaw slipping across forbidden borders. Gritty percussion echoes like footsteps on a swaying canyon bridge, while shimmering synths conjure the mirage-like shimmer of sand turned to glass.

As soaring vocal lines and melodic motifs evoke the tension of crossing into a land where no man belongs, the drop hits with the weight of moral ambiguity: the hero is a trespasser, the treasure is a woman, and every choice is a dance with danger under a silver-white moon. The second verse folds into a double-meaning narrative—part romance, part riddle—as stuttering basslines coil like serpents around the melody, hinting that the true key lies not in power, but vulnerability.

In its emotional core, the track becomes allegory: a place where forbidden gates symbolize the boundaries every person fears to cross. Atmospheric pads and whispered samples swell, revealing that the harshest desert isn’t Gerudo Valley—it’s the one built inside ourselves. When the final chorus rises, it blends adrenaline with melancholy, blurring the line between hero and thief until they’re indistinguishable shadows on the dunes.

Closing with a smoky, spoken outro, the track leaves listeners with a haunting truth: every heart hides a desert, every soul steals to survive, and sometimes the greatest treasure is simply reaching the end of the bridge.
