We present the debut release from Galway based and Cheek co-founder Supergross as they gifts us with a Free Download entitled ‘Looking @ Me’. Supergross’s debut offering is a high-octane techno track that is exploding with hard edged power while also remaining pleasantly bouncy.

Supergross is an Irish-Ukrainian DJ, producer, and promoter located in Galway. They first appeared on the scene in early 2022 while chairing the University of Galway DJ Society’s committee.

Since then, they have founded the multi-genre collective and events series, Cheek, which sets out to platform lesser represented genres and artists in Irish nightlife. As Cheek has now been in existence for over a year, it has acted as a new breeding ground for marginalised DJs in Galway.

Supergross’s debut track ‘Looking @ Me’ is a culmination of many influences which have engrossed the Galway based artist throughout the years. Blurring the lines between techno, trance, house & ambient moods, Supergross utilises pounding hard techno inspired drum loops across the face of bouncing bass & a harrowing avant-garde style vocal.

Romance Never Dies

Supergross (@djsupergross) is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and the founder of the Cheek collective and record label. Cheek launched in 2023 with the release of their first VA: OUT THA POND 001. They make an appearance on the compilation with a lighthearted 150 bpm organ-house influenced track called '444'. Other releases to date include their debut track, 'Looking @ Me'', which premiered with Four Four magazine, a single released on Cheek called 'TAKE AWF UR TIE', and their latest track, ‘Complete Aesthetic Control’, which appeared on Kulturelles Kollektiv’s ‘Global Elektronika’ VA.

To date, Supergross has appeared on club and festival lineups in Ireland and Germany, including Berlin, Galway, Dublin, Limerick, Laois and Cork, while supporting artists such as FJAAK, EJECA, Jan Vercauteren, SHXCXCHCXSH, THELMA and Hannah Laing. Despite taking an event-focused approach to their selections, techno and electro serve as the foundation of Supergross’ sound.

I recorded this mix with the hopes of becoming inspired again in my mixing and production (track 2 is one of my unreleased :p), as I've been in a slump recently. Thankfully, I really enjoyed recording this mix!

It doesn't take itself too seriously and travels through a few genres, while going from 134 to 150 bpm.

Coming from Ireland, taking over Berlin with the funkiest and cutest energy possible. We met randomly during an event in Oona Bar and since then we’ve been hanging around and mixing tunes together. When you walk around Berlin and you notice a green sticker with an animated frog, know it’s Supergross and her @cheekrecords 👄 To me it’s a truly inspiring persona - spreading charm and creativity as soon as she appears in da room 💚
