SUMMER SESSIONS 1.0

Sweet - adjective \swēt\

The definition of a word has never been so fitting. Born Christopher Sweet of Rochester-N.Y. in 1985, DJ Sweet has always been captivated by music, even as a small child. “Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” DJ Sweet learned early on the power music had on people and the way it made them move. With his love for music and need to move a crowd, Sweet was meant to entertain. At age 13 Sweet learned how to play the guitar and shortly after taught himself how to play the piano, but that didn’t quite cut it. In 2003 at age 18 Sweet got his first gig. “I was hanging out at a local country line dance bar when the manager came up to me and asked how well I knew the music and the line dances because their DJ had not shown up, and they needed my help.” After playing Country music at various places such as The Roost, Saddle Ridge and Josie’s Jukebox he knew he needed more. 

Sweet decided that it was time to become a real DJ, and purchased his first set of turntables in 2005 “I thought to myself… there must be more to this than just making an iTunes playlist and letting it go.” After countless practice sessions and help from his mentor Dave Pescrillo (DJ Jestyr) Sweet began to master the art of mixing and his career took flight. In 2006 he was recruited as one of the resident DJs at Club Syxx in downtown Rochester, and quickly moved to the top holding residencies at every nightclub in the Rochester area and guest spots all over the east coast. 

With his vast knowledge of music, his enticing personality and his technical ability, DJ Sweet will change the way you hear music. A monster in the party scene, he is one of the best beat mixers on the east coast; mixing, blending and mashing all of the best music for hours on end keeping any party moving with an unimaginable level energy. Master in all genres of music Sweet is able to adapt to any crowd at the drop of a hat, keeping the dance floor fresh and on fire. Today DJ Sweet can be found holding residencies at Vinyls & Wall Street in Rochester, and DJing private parties and events. DJ Sweet is also the go to DJ to entertain at event for Charities such as the Badge of Honor Association, The Gilda’s Club, and The Emerald Society.
